Climbing

McKaila's new thing these days is climbing on the furniture. One day, she just decided, oh I wanted to start climbing on the couch, and these days that's all she seems like she wants to do. She can't really get up on the couch all on her own just yet, but she's almost there. She gets one leg on the couch, but can't get the rest of her body to follow. So, we've been putting her Cars chair/bed in front of the couch and she'll start on that to climb up the couch.

Watching Little Einsteins

Then, the other day, Courtney brought out the tubs of McKaila's clothes and what does she decided to do. Climb on those too! She's is becoming a pretty daring little girl, that is for sure.

Blue and Whites

Today, we got the amazing privilage to tour one of the hangers at Andrews Air Force Base; thanks to the 89th squadron for such a great experience. We had so much fun and I know we will never forget. The whole family got to come along, Courtney, Heather, McKaila, Grandma and Grandpa Kuipers, Amber and David. We started off with a mini briefing to explain what they do and tell us about the people they fly around (V.P. Joe Biden, Hilary Clinton, Michelle Obama), along with their planes.

Once the briefing was done, we were off to the hanger. McKaila just loves planes, so it was so fun to watch her face light up when walking into the hanger. There were 4 planes in the hanger: Gulfstream 3 & 550, C-40 and C-32.  We got to go inside and tour all of them.

Happy Thanksgiving

Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving with family and friends. We were thankful to have Grandma and Grandpa Kuipers come in from Holland and Amber and David joined also. We also had one of David's friends Jamison join us for our turkey dinner. It was a great time, cooking, enjoying some wine and catching up.

The turkey before

This year, Courtney decided to try and deep fry a turkey. He's always wanted to do it and since family was coming over and he didn't have to work (he had to work last year), he wanted to try it out. So, my dad brought his frier and we deep fried the turkey. It turned out so good. It was the most delish bird I've had in a long while.

McKaila even enjoyed some turkey and stuffing. Last year, she was only a month old, so while we were eating, she was sleeping. So, it's was great to see her enjoy it all this year.

Raking Leafs

This afternoon Courtney and I decided to start raking the leafs outside. We only did the leafs in the front yard and doing the backyard on a later day. Mainly because the backyard is going to take a while and Courtney has to work tonight.
It was a chilling day (mid 50's) so, we bundled up McKaila and headed outside. Me with a rake and Courtney with the leaf blower. I started making the pile in the middle of the lawn while Courtney started on the side of house. McKaila mostly followed Courtney around, but every once in a while she would start walking through the piles of leafs. She didn't do a whole lot, but walk back and forth through the yard, but she was having lots of fun watching Mommy and Daddy.

Happy Birthday Auntie Amber

Today, Amber Jo turned 23 years old!! (Sure makes me feel old) So, ofcoarse, McKaila had to sport her I Love My Aunt shirt!

Like any other time we head outside, I have to make it into a photo op. I just let McKaila wonder around and do what she wants, as I snap picture after picture. That's why many times she isn't looking at the camera. I love to catch her in different moments and not always smiling at the camera.

So, these photos are for you Amber Jo!! Happy Birthday and we love you lots!!

Always with a stick in hand

Love you Auntie
