Backyard Fun

Today was a wonderful 62 degrees outside. So, right before lunch and waking Courtney up, me, McKaila and the dogs went to run around and play in the backyard. McKaila was having so much fun chasing around the dogs and throwing around the ball.

Bubble Guppies

Most of you already know, that McKaila's favorite show is Bubble Guppies. She is now becoming a fan of Mickey Mouse Club House, but she will always sit in her seat for a full episode of Bubble Guppies.
So, Sunday night there was a hour long episode of Bubble Guppies called "Fintastic Fairytale Adventure" On the Bubble Guppies website they offer printables, meaning you have a selection of stuff you can print out for your little one to enjoy. For the show, they had puppet printables. So, while McKaila was enjoying bath time with daddy, I was making Bubble Guppie puppets. We didn't have any craft sticks in the house, so the next best thing was straws. Thankfully, McKaila loved them!

Playing

Yesterday, McKaila, Courtney and I went over to the Correa's. (Rolando, Jody, and Lily) We started off, driving to a park, so the girls could run around and play for a while. The playing at the park didn't last long, due to the weather. It started to get windy and chilly, so we decided to finish our play date back at the Correa house. Lily and McKaila love to play together and we really hope that we can start getting together more often. Lily is a month younger then McKaila, so they play really well with each other. Other than the girls playing with each other, it was great to catch up with Jody and Rolando. We don't get the chance to see each other much because most of the time Courtney is working weekends and that's when they have off, so it was nice to finally be able to catch up!

Today, we are enjoying family time at home. Usually when Courtney has a day off, we are always on the go, so it's nice to be able to all just sit at home, play and relax.

**Some fun news**

Happy Valentines Day 2012

Happy Valentines Day from McKaila Rose!!

Even though today was Valentines Day, it was like any other day in the Polnicky household. I did get Courtney a card and made him a little something of the 52 reasons I love him and McKaila made him a picture, but other than that nothing too big.
Courtney and I have never been too big on getting eachother anything. We rarely ever do presents for Christmas, Valentines day, anniversarys. We'd just rather spend some quality time together at home or go out to lunch/dinner because we don't get to do that very often. It's fine with me. I'm not a big person on getting gifts like jewelry and flowers and Courtney surprises me with cards in the mornings or leaves little notes around the house. I'd rather have that than any piece of jewelry.
Luckily today, Auntie Amber was nice enough to take McKaila for a few hours before she had to go into work, so Courtney and I could have a meal with just us two. We decided to go to Buffalo Wild Wings because my parents sent us a gift card for there. (Thanks mom and dad) It's always nice to go out with out McKaila, but I miss her so much when we aren't with her. Anyways... We had a wonderful lunch and then did some running around. Nothing too special, but we were just happy to be with each other.
After picking up McKaila from Amber's we headed home and spent time together as a family. We really treasure these times as a family, with Courtney having to work a lot. And right now he's working nights, so it's even harder not having him home. It's nice having both of us kissing McKaila good night and I know McKaila likes that too!
All and all, it was a wonderful Valentines Day full of love and happiness all around. I can never say this enough, but I absolutely love my little family. Courtney and McKaila are my everything and thank God for them every day. My life couldn't get any better then this. (until there is another little Polnicky running around)

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!!

Before I end this we have to send out a big congratulations to Savorn and Jenny Or!! They welcomed a beautiful baby boy this afternoon!! Roman Savorn Or!!

Potty Time

Today, we went out to Babies R Us and bought McKaila her own little potty. We figured that we mind as well get her a potty now, so she can start getting used to the fact, that she's going to have to potty in her potty and not always have a diaper on. I'm sure that it will still be some time yet, before she officially potties in it, but when she's ready, we are ready!!

She's already been having fun sitting on it though. We decided to take off her diaper for a bit to see what she would do and she went and sat on her potty. Atleast she's got the idea!

First time ever sitting on her potty

In other McKaila news

McKaila has now been saying "Dada and Mama" and knowing who she is talking about. It's beyond adorable and we absolutly love it. It melts our heart now that she's saying it. She'll look at us and smile and say "Mama" or "Dada" She also says "uh oh" She likes to say that often and it's just down right adorable. She also knows where her belly button, nose and feet are.

McKaila and Mommy

Everyday, I wake up thinking how incredibly lucky I am for getting the chance to be a stay at home mom. Yes, it is stressful sometimes, but I wouldn't change anything for the chance to watch my daughter blossom into a young lady. A lot of parents out there, don't get the chance to be at home and see those first steps and hear their first words and I just can't express how happy it makes me that I am able to be home day after day.
Life is hard being a military wife. I don't see my husband much and sometimes I feel like I am a single parent because Courtney does work long hours and many days straight, allowing not a whole lot of family time. But, I am beyond thankful for everything that Courtney does for us day after day. He gets up at 4 a.m. every day and doesn't get home until close to 7 p.m. He's tired and wanting just to relax, but he still wants to play with McKaila. Because of his hard work, I am able to stay at home and be with our beautiful baby girl.

Courtney Ryan and McKaila Rose, I love you with all my heart and soul!! You two are my everything!

Washington Auto Show 2012

Yesterday, we took the trip downtown to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center for the Washington Auto Show. There is no comparing this Auto Show to the one in Detroit, but it's still fun to go. McKaila especially had fun looking at all the cars. She kept pointing, saying "car". McKaila also had fun getting into the cars with us and pushing all the buttons. All and all, it was a fun trip looking at all the up and coming cars.

After a while, we had to stop and let McKaila get out of the stroller and stretch a little. So, we found a place where there wasn't a whole lot of people and let her run around for a bit.
