Here's To Another Year

It's already the last day of 2013. To me, that's just crazy because 2013 flew right on by with a blink of an eye.

2013 was definitely a great year. It started out with our big move to Biloxi, MS. It was an adventure for sure, traveling with a toddler, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and me being 7 months pregnant. But, once we got to Biloxi, it felt like we were meant to be here. It definitely is a big change for our family, being even further away from family back in Michigan, but being closer to family in San Antonio. Culture is different, traffic is way different, but it's nice to be living in a place where it's a little slower pace. It has been hard getting used to the humid weather, but heck you can't beat having the beach only a few blocks from our house.

But, what made the year 2013 the greatest of all, is our 2 little girls. The birth of McKenna Grace was the highlight for sure. These 2 girls were meant to be sisters. You can't do anything without the other having to be there. It's true love between them, for sure. The giggles they share, the looks, it just melts your heart.

McKaila has become such a little lady for sure. She's gotten this little attitude, so she likes to see what buttons she can push, but other then that, I can't complain about the little princess she's become. She's just like her mommy and likes to keep things clean. She'll grab a wipe if she makes her mess and wants to clean it up herself, she'll help me sweep the floors and sometimes she'll even come up to me and tell me ever so sadly, "mommy, they're making a mess" I believe she'll be a clean freak just like her mommy. McKaila now potties on the potty all the time. It was a hard couple weeks of potty training, but it was like one day it clicked and she hasn't been in diapers since. She loves her Doc panties and she loves coming up to us, telling us she went potty. One she tells us, she always asks for a high five. But, the biggest thing for McKaila was becoming a big sister. I really thought it might be difficult for her when we brought home her sister, but from the moment she saw her sister, she's been all about her. She wants to get her toys, help feed her, and she's always the first to go up to her when she wakes up from her naps. She is such a great helper and big sister.

McKenna, wow, I can't believe how fast she's grown. I feel like every morning, when I go into her room, I look at her and feel like she's grown so much during the night. She's now pulling herself up on everything, crawling everywhere, and finally got her first tooth. McKenna loves to smile and most of all giggle.  Her smiles and giggles are very contagious. And the one person who can make her giggle the most is her big sister. McKaila will do something, McKenna will giggle which then makes McKaila giggle and the giggles just continue. You would think that McKenna was a happy baby all the time, but that's not the case. I mean, she is happy 99% of the time, but if she doesn't have her mommy, she freaks out. If I am out of her site for a while, she'll be fine, but once she spots me, she'll freak out until I pick her up. It's frustrating at times, but I love her, so it's hard to be mad about it.

2013 was a great year for our family and we are looking forward to what 2014 has in store for us.
Here is a look back at some of my favorite pictures from 2013

Flying High

We have a little daredevil of a child when it comes to McKaila. She's usually up for anything as long as mommy and daddy do it with her. From an early age, McKaila has loved when her daddy throws her high in the air. But, once it gets started, you'll be doing it for a while. "Do it again" "One more time" "Higher"

It's been a while since Courtney has done this with McKaila since she's been getting so big. So, last night Courtney said, "are you ready?" and there flew McKaila. Thankfully, Courtney told me to grab the camera because her face was priceless. Seeing her smile like that brings such joy into our lives.

Merry Christmas 2013

"It's Christmas morning!", McKaila started saying as we opened the door to her bedroom. She was very excited to see if Santa and the reindeer had eaten their snacks, so she raced downstairs and immediately saw the crumbs left over from Santa and the few pieces of chex mix left over from the reindeer.

Santa left the girls a letter

Once we were all finished with breakfast, it was time to turn on the Disney Christmas Parade, FaceTime with Grandma and Papa, and open some presents.

Courtney and I got the girls a trampoline for Christmas, even though McKaila is the only one who can really enjoy it right now, but in no time, McKenna will be joining her sister in the fun of jumping
I got spoiled by my mother with all the Rachael Ray cookware

Time to play with all our new toys
