Lucky

How is it that two little girls can bring some much love in our lives?
And that no matter through the terrible 2's and the frustration over the cries, these smiles make us stop and realize how truly lucky we are.

Weekends

This past weekend was great, but it sure went by way to fast. I love the weekends where we can do stuff as a family. Since McKenna was born, either Courtney or I take McKaila out to get groceries or do some other shopping, but this weekend we decided to head out as a family.

We hit up some garage sales which was great cuz we scored a new stroller. One both girls would enjoyed. It's a Joovy stroller and we love it so much already and we got to test it out with the girls already too. McKenna was so chill and didn't make a noise while we went grocery shopping, just looked around and McKaila can either sit or stand in the back. We even had it in the house a while to clean it up a bit and McKaila wanted Courtney to keep pushing her around.

We also had to hit up Sam's club to stock up on some diapers and wipes and since McKaila has been so good lately we were going to head to the  park and let her play for awhile but we ended up at the beach instead. We weren't prepared to do the beach thing, so we had no suits or anything, but McKaila still had so much fun. She had a lot of fun walking the beach with Courtney, picking up shells. At first she got upset because I wanted to keep the shells that she found, she wanted to throw them back into the water. But, after a while, she was giving me every single shell that she found. And of coarse, McKenna slept through her first visit to the beach.

Never Grow Up

What is going on?!? Both of my babies are getting so big.

McKenna is now holding her head up so well. She is getting stronger and stronger every day. She used to really hate tummy time, but now that she can lift her head to see what's going on, she's liking it a lot more. McKenna really loves when her big sister is around. Her face already lights up at the sight of McKaila. McKenna still has to fall asleep with the blankets up to her face. The moment you put that blanket up on her face, she mostly likely is instantly calm. I think McKenna is going to be one of those kids that always has to have her blankie with her.

McKaila has a great imagination. She loves playing with all her disney figurines and acting out different things with all of them. She loves playing with her Legos and building houses for her figurines. Every day she has one stuffed animal she is very attached to. The last couple days being Clover from one of her favorite shows, Sofia the First. But, at night time, she can't fall asleep with out her Buddy, her Taggies dog.

Some lyrics from Taylor Swift - Never Grow Up

Your little hand's wrapped around my finger
And it's so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyelids flutter cause you're dreaming
So I tuck you in, turn on your favorite night light
To you everything's funny, you got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have, honey
If you could stay like that

Oh darling, don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up, just stay this little
Oh darling, don't you ever grow up
Don't you ever grow up, it could stay this simple
I won't let nobody hurt you, won't let no one break your heart
And no one will desert you
Just try to never grow up, never grow up

2 Month Update

This is a little late, but I wanted to update you all on McKenna's 2 month appointment.
McKenna is sure a trooper and did very well at her appointment. She didn't mind the doctors cold hands or getting measurements and she didn't even mind getting her shots. She cried just a little when she first felt the poke from the needle, but not soon after the tears went away and she was fast asleep in Daddy's arms.
McKenna is very healthy and the doctor was very happy at how well she's holding her head up and how much weight she's gaining. And just like her big sister, McKenna is above average on height.
McKenna Grace
10.36 lbs
23.25 inches

Most of you don't know, but McKenna's left eye is 2 different colors. Thankfully, the doctor said it shouldn't cause any problems in her eye sight which I worried most about. The doctor said it's a very unique thing to have, but in some it fades away and others it doesn't. I guess we just wait and see.

Taggies Snuggle Me Sleeper

A couple weeks ago, I saw on Taggies Baby Facebook that they were looking for mom bloggers with newborns that were interested in testing out the new Taggies Snuggle Me Sleeper. Of coarse, I had to jump right on that being that the girls have loved their Taggie blankets and stuffed animals.
I was so beyond happy when I received an e-mail a week later , saying I was selected to review their product and the sleeper should be at our door step by the end of the week.
I was very anxious to get the sleeper. McKenna is a baby that loves to be held and with having a toddler, there are times that I can't just sit in the rocker and hold McKenna. I was hoping with the sleeper, it would give me more of an opportunity to play with McKaila and get things done around the house.
So, last week I got a knock on the door from FedEx and to my surprise it was already the Taggies Baby Sleeper It was perfect timing because McKenna was ready to go down for her morning nap, so I opened the box, took everything out, and started reading the directions. I'm not one that likes putting things together, so I was very happy that putting together the sleeper was very easy and only took me about 5 minutes. Within minutes of having the sleeper put together, McKenna was ready to put it to the test.
Thankfully, the test passed with flying colors. I put McKenna in it while she was still awake and she actually put herself to sleep. That was the first time that had happened. And, now every time that she is asleep she is in the sleeper. She loves it and I love it too. Even when McKenna is awake she doesn't mind being in it.
I believe it's the incline of the sleeper that makes McKenna like it so much. It gives her comfort when she's sleeping and when she's awake. It's enough incline where she's able to still see what's going on. The added bonus is the giraffe that is attached to the buckle. McKenna loves having soft stuff on her face, so she has been loving that, and I'm sure as she gets a little older she's going to enjoy it even more.

The only negative thing I have to say about the Taggies Sleeper is that the vibrator that attaches was making a pretty loud rattling noise. But, I moved it around a little and within time, it stopped.
I would recommend the Taggies Snuggle Me Sleeper to any one with a newborn. I really wish I had this the very day we came home from the hospital, that's how much I love it.
Please know that I received this product from KidsII, Inc. for free, but all my opinions and views are my own.

Sisterly Love

When McKaila wakes up her firsts words are usually "Mommy, I'm all done sleeping" so I go to her room to get her and then she asks "where's baby sister?" From that moment on, McKaila is all about her sister. She's always willing to get McKenna's paci or blanket and is always wanting to hold her baby sister. I was so afraid that McKaila would get jealous and not warm up to McKenna, but I was so very wrong. McKaila loves McKenna so much and I hope that never changes as they grow up.

I just love the love that these girls share towards each other. It melts my heart for sure

Today, our little cuddle bug is 2 months old.

Normally I would have an update on McKenna's current weight and height, but we don't have her appointment until the 10th. So, look for an update on McKenna Grace then.

But I did want to share some adorable pictures of McKenna that I took today! She is one happy baby.
