Santa And The Snowman

Before the girls were born, I had bought a blow up for the front yard, a snowman named Frosty. Mostly, it stayed on a porch on the second level since we were always in an apartment, but then we moved into a house before McKaila was born. It was finally time to let everyone see the cuteness of Frosty blown up in the front yard on Christmas.

Sadly, last Christmas, Frosty passed away. The wind was strong one night and he ripped. Even though I was sad to see Frosty go, I was excited to get a new blow up for the front yard.

So, this past weekend, we went on the hunt for a new blow up. We ended up at Garden Ridge which is a store we loved in San Antonio and I was super excited when it opened up here a few months ago. After looking at the many blow ups they carried there, we ended up finding a Santa and Snowman that we all liked. We asked McKaila which one she liked best and she said both, of coarse. Well, we ended up with both, Santa and the snowman.

When we got home that night, it was too late to go outside and put them out in the front yard, but Courtney was eager to blow them up, so he blew them right up in the living room.

But McKenna wasn't too fond of both of them

Story Time

McKaila and McKenna are loved so much by Courtney and I, but I feel that the love that these two have for each other is so much more. I feel like their bond for one another is so strong even being so young. I just hope that bond stays this strong through out the years as they grow older and personally I don't see it changing.

McKaila is all about her sister, which I love dearly. Sometimes I feel like she is a little too much for her little sister though. She wants so badly to have McKenna to be big like her, so they can run around the house and play together. McKaila even started saying, "when is Kenna going to be big like me" But even then, she does realize that she is still small and can't do things like she can, so she does help out and brings McKenna her baby toys. McKaila will sit right there with McKenna and hand her different toys until McKenna finds the right one to chew one.

The last couple weeks, I started to give the girls baths in the morning. We've always given them baths at night, but after a few explosive diapers by McKenna, that required baths, I just kept with it. Once, they are both washed up, we head to McKenna's room to lotion up and get ready for the day. This morning, once that was done, I got up to hang up the towels, I walked around the corner to this.

McKaila ran to her room and picked out some books and was sitting there reading to McKenna. It was so adorable and put a huge smile on my face. I think I even had some tears in my eyes because it was such a precious moment.

Sitting

For a while now, McKenna has been sitting up with the support of the boppy, but the other night, we decided to see how well she would do without the support. We were so excited when she was sitting all alone and kept sitting without falling sideways for more than a half hour. She was pretty proud of herself too. You could tell by all the smiles that she was giving us.

Roxy of coarse had to join in on all the fun we were having playing on the ground

Appointments

Last week both girls had check ups at the doctor. McKaila had her 3 year check up and McKenna had her 6 month check up.

Both girls did a great job while the doctor checked them over. Both girls are healthy and all around looking good. McKaila is really tall and skinny and McKenna is growing as well as she should be.

McKaila Rose
Weight = 29 lbs
Height = 37 inches

McKenna Grace
Weight = 17 lbs
Height = 27 inches

Besides their appointments, the girls needed to get shots. McKaila only needed to get the flu shot, but McKenna needed the flu shot, plus a few more. Luckily, for us, the girls do really well with shots. McKaila didn't have a clue what was going on and tensed up when the needle went through the skin, but there were no tears, which resulted in a sucker and lots of stickers from the nurses. McKenna has tears running down her face the moment the needle hit her skin, but as soon as you put her back in your arms, she forgets all about it. Our girls are such troopers.

McKaila loves getting her picture taken these days, so I try to take full advantage of it when I can

She's a happy girl when she's eating. McKenna just started doing 3 - 7 oz bottles during the day and added more solids. She loves her oatmeal cereal in the mornings, fruits at lunch, and veggies at dinner.
McKaila's hair is getting so long, but NO I'm not ready to cut it

We are truly blessed with these two girls!

Happy Veterans Day

This past weekend, we celebrated Veterans Day by going to the parade that traveled through downtown Biloxi. It was a great time that included beads, candy, along with friends and family. It always feels great to go out and do something outside with the family, but it's even better when you're joined by friends. Kory, who is a co-worker of Courtney's, and his family, Natalie, his wife, and their two children, Colton and Lily, joined us to our first parade in Biloxi.

The girls both loved seeing the marching band march by. Tried to explain to McKaila that I used to do this, but she didn't understand it
McKaila couldn't get enough of all the candy that each car threw out

 McKenna never took her eyes off of the parade
 Lily watching the bands march by

 Colton and Mommy (Natalie)
 Proud to be an American

What a great day to be out celebrating our Veterans and all current military! Much love to my Grandpa Kuipers and Grandpa Holtgeerts along with Courtney's Grandpa Seymour who served and who are no longer with us!! We love you lots!!!

God Bless The USA

Bling Bling

The time has come that we get McKenna's ears pierced. McKaila was 6 months old when we got her ears pierced, so it was bound to happen that we get McKenna's ears pierced when she turned 6 months old.
Courtney wasn't fond of the idea of getting McKaila's ears pierced, but in the end I got my way and she got cute little earrings for her ears. As for McKenna, I didn't have to work so hard to convince Courtney to get McKenna's done, but he knew it was better to get them done earlier than later.
So, today we headed to Claire's and picked out some cute little earrings and got McKenna's ears pierced.

She did not like it at all, but the tears didn't last long
After some cuddles with Mommy, she was all smiles

6 Months Old

I just can't believe that our 2nd little baby is already 6 months old. She's getting so big and doing new things day after day. She's been sitting up mostly with the support of the Boppy, and she takes after her big sister in the fact that she likes to roll from one side of the room to the other.

These 2 are inseparable. Always by each other no matter what

We don't have McKenna's 6 month appointment until the middle of the month, we also have McKaila's 3 year appointment at that point to. So, keep an eye out for an update on their heights and weights.

Love me a sleepy baby
This is currently my view right now. I think she's comfy
