Boy or Girl???

Leading up to this day, I was very anxious and very excited. I was more then ready to find out the gender of the little one growing inside my belly. To be completely honest with you all, I had a gut feeling from the moment we found out we were expecting, that it was going to be another girl. But, then again, I would have moments that I really hoped to finally have that boy.

I made the appointment to have the gender ultrasound done a few weeks ago at Sneak-A-Peek  and found out I could find out as early as 15 weeks. I got even more excited by that because even though it's only a week difference, most places don't do it until 16 weeks. Now, we'll have an appointment around the 20 week mark at the hospital, which they would tell us the gender if they can tell, but that's not the reason they do it. They do the ultrasound to measure everything and make sure the baby is looking ok.

Of coarse, I was super excited about making the appointment, that I told our neighbors all about it. Our neighbors, Josh and Christy along with their 3 kids have become really close friends of ours, so I told them that they were more then welcome to join us, if they wanted to. I was beyond happy when they came to us and told us that they would come with us. It's hard not having family here to enjoy stuff like this with, so it made me so incredibly happy that we had friends that wanted to share this special moment with us.

It's always amazing seeing your little baby on the screen and hearing the heartbeat

IT'S A BOY!!

RylanBrooks and McKaila

We first were there for about a hour or so, and then we were told to come back because the umbilical cord was in the way to truly tell the gender of baby p. So, after getting some lunch, we all went back and we tried it again. Less then a minute into our second session of the day, she looked at Courtney and told him he was finally going to get his boy.

We are super excited to be adding a boy to the family and feel so lucky to have amazing friends like Christy and Josh who were happy to come join us and loved on our girls while Courtney and I were busy watching baby p. on the screen. A huge thanks to Christy because she was the one that remembered the camera. So all these great pictures on this blog post are all thanks to Christy, love you girl!!

Audubon Zoo in New Orleans

We were invited to join our friends on a Saturday to go to the zoo in New Orleans. Our friends, the Papa's, have two kids, Kolton and Lilly. It was Lilly's 2nd birthday, so going to the zoo was for her birthday. We were more then happy to join them, not only because we love their kids, but because we all love animals and haven't yet made it to the zoo in New Orleans.

It was one incredibly hot day, with the heat index in the triple digits, but even with it being beyond hot, it was a great day with friends and animals.

14 Weeks with #3

I am now 14 weeks with baby number 3, which in some ways is still unreal to me, but here we are 14 weeks in.

Week 13 meant saying good bye to the 1st trimester and saying hello to the 2nd. They say going into the 2nd trimester, you start feeling better if you have morning sickness, but that wasn't the truth for me. I had some really rough days between the 13-14 weeks. It wasn't fun, and literally took everything out of me. Along with still dealing with the morning sickness, I was also dealing with the fact that I had no energy and I still don't have much. Most mornings, are when I truly feel the best, so that's when everything has been getting done for the day. Laundry, cleaning the house, etc.

I have been truly blessed with McKaila and McKenna because it seems like they just know what days are hardest for me. They play together and come cuddle with me. They have brought smiles to my face when I feel so down about not feeling well.

McKaila has been so excited for baby 3. She loves to pull up my shirt and check on the baby. Which for her is just feeling on my belly. One day she had put her ear up to my belly and said she could hear the baby, so she ran over to her Doc McStuffins bag to get her stethoscope, so she could hear the baby better. Courtney and I have both asked her if she wants a baby brother or baby sister. Most of the time it's a baby sister and there have been a handful of times where she says she wants a baby brother. She also has told us that if she gets a sister, her name will be Katy, like Katy Perry. (I guess you can tell we listen to a lot of Katy Perry in this household)

We will be finding out very soon if McKaila and McKenna are going to have a baby brother or a baby sister. We are actually finding out at 15 weeks (August 29). I am so excited to find out what this little peanut is. From the beginning I have felt like it's going to be another girl, so we will see if my feelings are right.

Crazy Girls

Our girls love to have their picture taken for the most part, but they really love taking goofy pictures. As a mom, you always want those beautiful pictures of their kids smiling big, looking happy. Yes, I really enjoy those pictures, but I really love the pictures where the girls are playing, being goofy, and enjoying themselves. So, one day, when I had both girls cuddled up on my lap, I told them I wanted to take pictures of us. Most of the time, I just take out my phone and take the pictures if I can't get to my camera, so I got my phone and the first photo I took, we were all smiles. After that, I told the girls to be goofy since McKenna's new thing is to go around and stick out her tongue. So, the 3 of us started making goofy faces while taking some memorable photos.

Go Blue

Yes, I know college football hasn't officially started yet, but I needed to get out the girls Michigan clothes in preparation for the big games!!

My mom had given McKaila a Michigan cheerleading uniform when she was around 18 months old, so I had to dig it out to see if it would fit McKenna. I was very worried it wasn't going to fit her since she's a little chunk, but I was so excited when I put it on her that it fit just right. I was so excited, that I had to take out my camera and take some pictures of McKenna in her uniform.

It's Been A While

So, it's been some time since I've last blogged. It's not like I don't have countless pictures of the girls that I would like to share with you all, and will be posting some sooner then later of the time I missed on here, but it's mainly due to the fact that I haven't been feeling the greatest lately. And the reason for that, is why I write this blog to you all today.

WE ARE EXPECTING BABY #3

As of right now I am almost 13 weeks along (tomorrow will mark the 13th week) and I've been feeling every bit of the morning sickness every day, all day. Of coarse, some days are better then others, but it's been a while since I have been 100%. I have literally been feeling morning sickness since day 1 of finding out we were expecting, so I am more then ready for all of this to pass.

It was a few days before Father's Day when I snuck upstairs to take a pregnancy test. I had been feeling very tired and sick to my stomach all day, so it was worth a try in taking a test. My feelings were right. Within seconds of putting the test down on the counter, the news was there. I was expecting.

In my mind I was freaking out. Yes, we planned on the pregnancy, but it was still a shock that it all happened so quickly. So, now I am not one to keep anything from Courtney and have always wanted to do something special for him when I told him the exciting news, but I couldn't wait. Luckily for me, it was almost Father's Day, so I had that excuse to use. When I got down stairs with the test hidden in my pocket, I told Courtney that I had gotten him something for Father's Day, but I was just too excited to wait, so I needed to give it to him a little early. So, he closed his eyes, put out his hands and I placed the test in his hand. When he opened his eyes, he was so surprised and so happy. He was shocked too and kept saying "are you serious" which was pretty funny and wished I had been recording him, it's pretty priceless seeing someone react to something like a pregnancy test.

With both McKaila and McKenna, we have had our first ultrasounds with them at around 8 weeks, but this time around we didn't have an ultrasound until 12 weeks and 2 days. I was very anxious for the appointment, but of coarse it was for no reason at all, because our little baby was busy moving around to the point where we couldn't even get good pictures of him or her. Baby P.'s heart beat was very strong at 167. That is one of the best sounds you can hear. You hear that heart beat come over and it instantly brings tears to your eyes. It's just amazing.

For those wondering what my actual due date is, it's February 20, 2015. Courtney and I's 6 year anniversary!
