Monthly Ultrasounds

I have yet to mention in previous posts something dealing with this pregnancy. Starting from the get go, I have had high blood pressure. I dealt with the same thing with both of my previous pregnancies, but it never got high enough where I was put on any kind of medication. Due to the fact that it was high already and that I dealt with it before, the doctors put me on blood pressure medicine.

I took it hard knowing I had high blood pressure to the point I was even in tears to the doctor, but the doctors have reassured me that everything will be ok. So, because of the high blood pressure, I will be having to go to a high risk doctor to get monthly ultrasounds to make sure that baby Logan is growing like he should and everything around him looks ok.

I just had my first ultrasound with the high risk doctor and everything went amazing. Before the ultrasound began, she talked about all the risks that could happen with having high blood pressure and what will possibly happen towards the end of my pregnancy. Like getting monitored more frequently and if I haven't already given birth, I will likely be induced between my 39th-40th week.

The ultrasound was great. No matter how often I get to see Logan on the screen, moving around in my belly, it's always going to bring tears to my eyes. He was moving a lot, which made it difficult for doctor to get some good profile shots of him, but we still got some pretty good pictures of our little boy. The doctor said, that Logan is growing great and is currently weighing around 10 oz. and his heartbeat is 152. She was very happy with what she saw and didn't have any concerns about anything, so we were very relieved by that.

Reconfirmed it's a boy :)

17 Weeks with #3

It's still been sinking in that we are having a boy. It's just so crazy to me because deep down I really thought we were going to be adding another little girl to the Polnicky family. Yes, it's still sinking in, but I feel so blessed to be having a little boy. I do have difficult days, not that I am not happy to be having a boy, because I am extremely happy to be having a boy, but the things that make things difficult for me is starting to go through all the baby girl clothes we have, to pass them onto someone else.
It's hard for me to look at some of the girls clothes and remember the times of them in those outfits and now I will be having to give them away. Thankfully, our neighbors have a little girl, so I already given them a huge bag of clothes for her. Even though it's been very emotional for me to be getting rid of all these clothes, I am really looking forward to shopping on the boy side of the baby clothes section.

Logan got his first package of goodies from Grandma and Papa Kuipers

These last couple weeks, besides the emotional part, has been really great. McKaila is constantly going around the house saying she's having a little brother and his name is Logan James. It's never just Logan, it's always Logan James, which I think is so adorable coming from his big sister. And for McKenna, she's going to be a great big sister. She loves on my belly when she's sitting in my lap. I ask her to give the baby a hug and she lays her head right on my belly while looking up at me. It's the cutest thing ever.

Discover The Dinosaurs

Courtney grew up loving dinosaurs, so when we saw a commercial on t.v. about dinosaurs coming to the coliseum here in Biloxi, Courtney knew it was something that we had to bring the girls too. Courtney had a couple dinosaur stuffed animals that we had found back when we were in Michigan, so once McKaila saw those, she wanted to bring them home with us. If you notice in some of the pictures of McKaila, she is holding one of the dinosaurs.

When we told McKaila that we were going to go see big dinosaurs, she was pretty excited, but once we walked into the coliseum, McKaila wasn't too sure about it. The dinosaurs were big, they moved, and made very loud noises. And if you know McKaila, she doesn't do too well with the loud noises. But, once we got passed the loud noises and got to play and ride the dinosaurs, she was a happy little girl again.

McKenna really didn't have a care in the world about the large, moving objects, but the sounds did get to her a little bit. There was a few different times where she wanted to climb up in our arms because she didn't know what to think about everything going on around her.

But even with all the loud noises, the girls had a lot of fun, which at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what the cost or what you're doing, as long as the kids have fun, is all that truly matters.
