Happy Halloween 2014

Happy Halloween

Our friends met over at our place to enjoy some pizza and snacks, then once the kids were done eating, it was time to get them ready for some trick or treating. Of coarse, not a whole lot of food was consumed by the kids because they just wanted to start going door to door to get candy. So, mostly what happened was the adults ate, while the kids played and coming over to ask every once in awhile when it was time to go trick or treating.

Our girls went of Anna and Elsa from Frozen, of coarse. They were so beyond adorable, but I couldn't get any pictures of the girls together. You see, by the time we got outside to start trick or treating, others had started already. McKenna is deeply afraid of all kids that have masks on. She would start shaking and want in either I or Courtney's arms. But, then when Courtney put McKenna in the stroller to go trick or treating, nothing phased her, so I really don't know what she was truly afraid of.

It was a great Halloween night with friends and can't wait to do it all over again next year!

24 Weeks with #3

I had my appointment with the high risk doctor yesterday, which like every appointment with her, it included an ultrasound. It is always amazing to see baby Logan moving around in my tummy. It's one thing to feel the movements from inside, but it's a whole other amazing thing to be able to see him going crazy in my belly on the screen.

Everything with the ultrasound looked perfect, which was great to hear. Logan is growing strong and has a great heartbeat. I am also doing really well when it comes to my blood pressure. My blood pressure has been good since I started taking pills to help it. At this appointment though, it was pretty low, at least for me it was low, but as long as I am feeling well, she's not too worried about it because it will start to rise once again in a few weeks. This is usually the time during most pregnancies where your blood pressure starts to drop some and then it goes back up during the third trimester.

Logan James
Currently the size of an eggplant
Weighing in at 1 lbs 9 ounces
Approximately 11-12 inches in length (crown to rump)
Second Trimester
Heartbeat 152
After every meal along with morning and nights are your strongest kicks/punches
About 112 days to go

Pumpkin Carving and Painting 2014

Carving our pumpkin came a little later then usual this year. We usually carve our pumpkins a few days before Halloween, but this year, we finally got it done the night before Halloween. Either way, it got done and the girls loved it.

This is the first year that McKenna got to stick her hands inside the pumpkin to help clean it, but after one time, she had enough. She wasn't digging it one bit. McKaila wasn't too interested in getting all the pumpkin guts out either, but what kept her going was finding all the seeds, so she helped daddy out the best she could with that.

Once all the guts were all cleaned out of the pumpkin, I got the girls set up with their paints to paint their pumpkins that they picked out at the pumpkin patch weeks earlier, while Courtney carved out the rest of the pumpkin. McKaila told daddy exactly how she wanted our pumpkin to look, so thank you to our little pumpkin for having a great eye for what our pumpkin should look like.

Fam{ily}

We were lucky enough to have my family in town for McKaila's birthday! McKaila loved having her grandparents and Auntie here to help celebrate. Besides it being McKaila's birthday, it is always nice having family around. It doesn't happen as often with my side of the family since they live further away, so it's always nice to have them here when they can.

Before everyone left to head back home, we needed to take pictures of all of us. Unfortunately, Courtney was at work at the time, so he couldn't be involved in the pictures, so that's why you don't see him present.

McKaila's 4th Birthday Party

A few months back, I started asking McKaila what kind of birthday party she wanted. I gave her 2 options, so she got to choose between a Frozen birthday party or a My Little Pony birthday party. To our surprise, she said right away that she wanted a My Little Pony birthday.

She got so excited for her pony party, that with everything that she saw with ponies, she wanted it to be part of the party. And everyone she could tell, she was telling them that she was going to be having a pony party. I think she was a very excited little girl.

When Courtney and I started discussing what we were going to do for her party, we decided to do it a little more low key then we had done the previous year. So, all in all, we just had our family and friends there and had a cookout.

Everyone, including the adults seem to all enjoy McKaila's pony party. I mean, when it comes to having a bounce house, who isn't having fun? Not only the kids were jumping around in the bounce house, but the adults got in on the fun too.

Thank you to our family and friends that traveled and came out to celebrate McKaila Rose's 4th birthday with us!!

Happy 4th Birthday McKaila Rose!

Our little bug is 4 years old. I can't believe it! Our first born is getting so big, too fast.

To celebrate her birthday, my parents, along with my grandma Holtgeerts drove in from Michigan, and my sister, Amber flew in from Maryland. McKaila loved that she had her grandparents and auntie here to celebrate and spoil her.

The night before her birthday we prepared the downstairs for McKaila for when see woke up in the morning. My dad helped out by attaching the balloons to the ceiling and also helped Courtney bring in all the toys that we had stored in the garage for the past month.

We didn't do anything to special on the day of McKaila's birthday, due to the fact that we were having an actual birthday party for her the next day. So, most of the day was spent getting last minute things together for the party. On the list of things to do, was to pick up the princess bounce house we rented for her party, so we told her she was going to be able to jump in it when we got home.

Mommy baked McKaila a cake to enjoy on her birthday. Mommy baked it and McKaila helped decorate it.
