Pictures At The Friendship Oak

I have been wanting to get some pictures taken of the kids for some time now and since Logan is sitting up on his own better now, I figured now would be the best time to do it.  Down the line, I want to get some professional photos taken of all of us, but this will do for now.

Some of my favorite photos of the girls were taken at the Friendship Oak in Long Beach, so that's where we headed. It was perfect weather and the kids did great with taking pictures and am so pleased with how they turned out.

It was a beautiful day, so after we took pictures, we headed to the beach to let the girls run around, along with feed the birds.

The birds weren't too eager to take the girls bread, but they tried the best they could and finally they gave up to dip their feet in the water.

This is Logan's 2nd time being at the beach and as soon as we got him close to the water, he couldn't take his eyes off the water. The sound of the waves hooked him in. The girls were constantly jumping in and out of the water and getting wet from splashing, but seeing the joy on their faces, I didn't care too much about the wet clothes.

School Days

McKaila has just ended her 3rd week of school and we are happy to report she is loving school. We have had a couple nights, where McKaila starts crying a little and tells us she wants to stay at home with mommy and not go to school, but by the next morning, she's pumped to get back at it. On weekends, she has to ask us how many sleeps she has until she has to go back to school again. We are so happy that she gets excited to go to school every day.

She has been learning so much and has so much to tell us about her few hours at school every day on the way home. She's got to tell us about her new friends, her snack for the day, if she got green (green means she has done good in class that day), the songs she's learning, and she has even been learning Spanish.

Waiting in the car pool lane. She loves that a teacher comes and gets her to take her to class

Courtney and I are very proud of our little girl. It's hard to see her growing up so fast, but happy to see that she's already excelling in school.

McKaila's 1st Day of Pre-K

Today, our first born, McKaila Rose, started her first day of Pre-K at St. Paul Methodist. She has been very excited and since last week has been counting down the number of sleeps she had until her first day of school.

I will admit, it was a rough couple days leading up to this day. I knew she would do great, but she's been with me since the day she was born, so it's hard to let go. The last couple nights there were lots of tears shed on my part, but I am really proud of myself and didn't shed any tears while saying good bye to her at school.

First day of school art work
McKaila was really excited to see me when she walked out of her classroom and gave me the biggest hug while telling me she loved me. After that, it was non stop talking about her day. She loved going to school and is excited for all the days to come!!
