Space Center Houston

On our way home from San Antonio, we decided to stop back in Houston for the night. We had only traveled a few hours that morning, but I have always wanted to check out the Space Center in Houston, so what better time to do it, then now.

I was very excited and I would really love to go again, when we have some more time. There was so much information to read and so much more to see than we got to. We wanted to make sure we went on the tour, which is a 45 minute ride, so due to that, we didn't get to see everything we wanted to.

I think that Courtney and I were more excited about all the space stuff than the kids, but they still enjoyed the kids area and just running around playing all the space launch games.

This is the actual control center where they monitored 9 Gemini and all Apollo Missions, including the historic Apollo 11 trip to the moon.

Saturn V Rocket, the most powerful rocket ever built and operated

It's over 36 stories tall and it's 1 of 3 that are left in existence

River Walk

The third and finally thing we really wanted to take the kids was the River Walk. It's Courtney and I's favorite spot in San Antonio. The last time we visited San Antonio, we did it kid free, so this time around, we made it a family affair.

The girls found it really cool to be walking right along side the water and couldn't wait to get on the boat, so they could be on the water. The boat ride wasn't so much for children, it was more for adults and to hear information about the River Walk, but the girls enjoyed just being on a boat.

We loved showing the kids all our favorite spots along the River Walk, including the Alamo. We have countless pictures of the Alamo with just Courtney and I, so now we get to add pictures of the kids to that.

You can't go down to the River Walk without eating down there. I think, this may have been the kids favorite part. They loved eating and seeing all the ducks floating on by and coming up to us to try and get some food.

I just love the River Walk at night

Canyon Lake

Before leaving San Antonio, we needed to stop at Canyon Lake Dam. It's a beautiful area and it gave the girls a chance to run around a bit. Unfortunately, we got there later in the day, so the sun was starting to set, but we still got some great shots of the kids on the damn and with the gorge behind them.

A selfie with all 5 of us is a challenge

Sea World San Antonio

The second place we wanted to take the kids was to Sea World.

When Courtney and I lived in San Antonio, we had season passes to Sea World. With the military, our family could visit Sea World for free, so we couldn't pass up the chance to share a Sea World adventure as a family.

It was a perfect, beautiful day and the girls enjoyed every bit of running around, seeing this and that. We tried to see all the shows, but I think we came up a couple short. I mean, really, the Shamu show is the only show they truly wanted to see, but they enjoyed every bit of everything they saw.

Wildlife Ranch: African Safari Texas Style

When Courtney and I started planning our trip to San Antonio, there were a few different places that we really wanted to take the kids to. The first one, the Wildlife Ranch. When Courtney and I went to visit San Antonio, we went there and thought it was a fun experience, so we really wanted the kids to experience it too.

I showed the girls pictures of what the animals would be doing, like eating out of your hands and putting their heads into the car. They thought it was the coolest thing, so leading up to the day, that's all the could talk about.

I really thought they would be very hesitant about letting the animals eat out of their hands, but after Courtney and Grandpa did it, they were all in. They loved it and couldn't get enough. It sure made our day seeing them so excited about it.

The animals were fearless, along with the girls

The girls loved the goats, especially the baby ones
