Sunny Days and Presidents Day

It's been beautiful here in Huntersville, NC lately. We've been able to enjoy meals outside at some of our favorite spots, as in these couple of photos. We were enjoying outdoor seating at Cookout, a cheap, but yummy place that we all enjoy!

It's Presidents Day which means no work or school! It always means a day of fun and some good deals.

We did have plans to take them to play on some trampolines, but decided it would be too busy for them to enjoy for the very first time, so we decided to do some other things.

We did some shopping at the mall and got some good deals on some clothes and then ended up at Hendrick Motorsports. The kids never say no to seeing Dale's car. And they were even more excited to go this time because Jimmy Johnson's championship car is now on displayed. So cool seeing the car in person!

We also got some really awesome deals while at Hendrick Motorsports. They had a bin full of $5 hats, so Courtney got a new Dale hat along with a Chase Elliot hat, I got a Jimmie hat and both the girls wanted Chase hats. Logan didn't want one and didn't have any that fit him anyways. But the best buy, was the University of Michigan #88 die-cast. I have been eyeing this die-cast for a while now, but they are expensive, so when i saw that it was half the price, we couldn't pass it up.

It's always a fun day when you don't exactly know what we will be doing, but always end up somewhere and having fun! I always look forward to days like that. Love my family!!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Logan James

How is it that our baby boy is already 2 years old? I mean, really?
Time, you can slow down at anytime.

It really is crazy that Logan is already 2. It's gone by way too fast, that's for sure!

Logan was very excited about opening up his presents. Unlike the girls, who would slowly open their presents piece by piece, Logan was very eager to see what was wrapped up. He got those presents unwrapped as quickly as he could.

So bummed that this came out blurry, but he's been wanting this Dale Jr. car for so long. We loved seeing his excitement when he saw it.

Ready to cruise

Thank you Great Grandma Kuipers

Opening presents is exhausting... happy to be relaxing with his new cars hat on

Blowing out his 2 candles
Logan was a spoiled little boy on his birthday and a happy one at that.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Logan James!

Logan's 2nd Birthday Fun Day

Logan loves fishes so it was a given that we would go to the Sealife Aquarium for Logan's birthday fun.

We went after McKaila got out of school, which was a great idea, because there was barely anyone there. The kids got to run around from one tank to another and really enjoy watching the fish without other kids or adults getting in their way.

It's a small place, but it's perfect for their age.  I mean, Logan was so happy. We loved seeing the smile on his face throughout the aquarium. Of course, the girls had fun too, we all had fun, and we really love seeing that places like these, make the kids so happy.

As his shirt says... I make 2 look good. That is for sure!
It was a great afternoon of birthday fun! We were happy that Auntie got to join us in the fun too!
Happy 2nd Birthday, Logan James!

100 Days of Kindergarten

It's crazy to think, but it's here. It's the 100th day of Kindergarten.

McKaila was so excited about her 100th day, mostly because she got to be creative and come up with a way to put 100 of something onto a poster board. She decided that she wanted to draw out 10 monsters and put 10 eyes on each of them.

So, one afternoon while Logan was napping, McKaila and I sat on the floor creating her 100 days of Kindergarten poster.

McKaila drew out all her monsters on her own, only with me helping put the glue on the eyes.

On the 100th day of Kindergarten, all the kindergarten classes got to participate in a 100th day parade. All the kids got to show off all their 100th day projects wh.ile counting to 100.

As a surprise to McKaila, Auntie came into town a few hours early to see her in the 100th day parade.  She was very happy when she found us and saw Auntie with us.

Happy 100th Day of Kindergarten, McKaila Rose!!

Sadie

This is very difficult for me to type, but our kitty, Sadie went to be with Roxy in the clouds.

This has been terribly hard on me, especially since I am the one that found her.

I was not ready for my baby Sadie to leave us. She was my first baby. Courtney and I had gotten her shortly after moving in with each other and she was always by my side. She was such a loving kitty from the very beginning. Yes, she would give you those little love bites, but nothing to hurt you. She was always there to make me feel better when I was having hard days, by cuddling with me and giving kisses. She was the best kitty. And more so when we started having kids. She was so good with all of them and loved them so much. And the kids loved her back. Sadie, more so was attached to McKaila and Logan, as they wanted to cuddle with her.

I miss my baby Sadie so much already. It's been very hard not seeing her at the bottom of the stairs in the morning, waiting for her food, or seeing her curled up in her favorite corner. But, even with my days full of tears because I miss you, it's only because I am being selfish because I want you here with me. But, I know you are happy running free outside like you always wanted.

We will love you forever, Sadie!
