Courtney had a long weekend off and we found someone to watch the animals, so we headed off to San Antonio. This was the first vacation and long car ride for McKenna so I was a little stressed out a bit on how well she would do in the car. McKenna, from day one, hasn't been to fond of the car seat. Thankfully, she did very well. We stopped every couple hours so we could stretch and change her diaper and what not, so I think that helped a lot. McKaila always does well in the car. Give her, her iPad and she's happy as can be.
Time to get out of the car at the Visitors Center in Texas
Happy to be out of the car
The girls loved the nature trail. Usually there are gators and other animals, but it was too chilly for them
All McKaila wanted to do was run. I think she was more than ready to get out of the car for a bit
It was great to be in San Antonio again. I sure missed it there, Courtney and I both. Everything, but the traffic I love. It just feels like home. What I missed the most, is walking the River Walk. I couldn't wait to get down there, but with the girls just getting over their sickness, I really didn't want them out in the cold for long, so we opted for just doing some shopping at the El Mercado. McKaila loved it. Looking at all the colors and listening to the music. I am glad we decided to go down there because we ended up purchasing some beautiful pictures of San Antonio to hang around the house.
Our last day in San Antonio, Grandma Nancy and Grandpa were nice enough to watch the girls for us so we could go out for some adult time. We started off by meeting a friend of ours for lunch, Daniel to get some of our favorite BBQ at Smokey Mo's. Daniel worked with Courtney while working at Kennmark and have kept in touch since we moved, so it was great that we were able to catch up with him. The rest of the day was meant for Courtney and I. We walked around some of our favorite places. La Cantera and The River Walk It was a great night spending time with my love and seeing all the beautiful Christmas lights, but I was more then ready to go home to my girls. This was the first time I left McKenna for more then a couple hours, so I was having some major separation anxiety, even though I knew they were having lots of fun with their grandparents.
It was a great weekend, but like always, it went by way too fast. Now, that we have the van, with lots of room to travel in, we are hoping that we can start making the trip to San Antonio a little more often.
Until next time San Antonio
