I love when family is able to come visit us, but it's so hard to say good bye after a few short days. Now that the kids are older, they are understanding more of the time we spend together with the family that comes to visit and you need to cherish that, that much more. So, when grandpa and grandma Nancy had to go to back home, we decided to let the kids skip the day of school and come with us to drop them off at the airport.
The kids enjoyed the morning getting their last playing in with grandpa and grandma Nancy, then we headed out to the Fort Collin's/ Loveland area to enjoy a late lunch together.
Since, we had some extra time after lunch, we decided to take them to the Devil's Backbone to get outside for a bit before they had to get to the airport. The Devil's Backbone was one of our first hiking areas that we went to when we moved here and I always love to go back.
The first time we came here, Logan didn't want to go to the top, so I took him back while Courtney and the girls hiked to the top. This time, Logan was such a trooper and we all hiked to the top.
It was a chilly day, but it was perfect for a little hike up the Devil's backbone. And a perfect way to end the grandparents time with us!!
