Train Ride!

All aboard!!!

We had a very exciting Veterans Day!! 

We got to surprise the kids with a 2 hour train ride!

A few weeks back, Courtney received an email about a free train ride on Veterans Day. He jumped on that opportunity to get tickets and right away we knew that we had to make it a surprise for the kids. If we didn't, then that's all we would hear about until the day arrived. 

After we picked up the girls from school, we drove to the location where we would have to board the train. When we pulled into the parking lot, all you heard from the kids is "where are we?' "what are we doing here?" over and over again. It didn't take long before I told Courtney to just tell them already what we were doing. 

They were so excited when they heard we were going on a train ride, but I think Logan was truly the most excited. He loves watching all the trains around here and to finally be able to go on one, he was smiling ear to ear. 

As you can see from the pictures, the kids got even more excited about it once we were on the train. 

The smiles continued throughout the whole ride. It also helped that they were able to enjoy some soda, cheez it's and rice Krispy treats. They were loving it. 

Once we were back at the depot, the kids were kind of sad that it was over already, I mean, the 2 hours did go by rather quickly. But, they quickly were asking if we can go on another train ride. So, lets hope we are able to experience this again next year.
