Exploring

Since Amber was in town and it was a beautiful day, we decided to get in the car and do some exploring.

Courtney did some google mapping and came across an area we hadn't explored yet, so we started driving that way.

What a beautiful area and I think we went at the perfect time. With the ice melting away along with the snow, it made everything look so unreal. I mean the pictures don't do it any justice.

The thing I like most about driving in the mountains, is that there is always areas where you can pull over, so that's what we did. We would come across an area where you could pull over and we would stop and do some exploring!

The ice was very thick, so the kids, Courtney and Amber started throwing rocks trying to get the ice to crack a little. They didn't have much luck, but if I do remember correctly the last throw by McKenna, she did get a slight crack in the ice and was very excited about it.

This area was our second stop on our scenic drive in the mountains.

This area the ice was melted a little more, so it was cool to see the thickness of the ice and seeing the water rushing through it. Nature is amazing and so beautiful!!

I'm so happy we were able to take Amber out and see some amazing views. At first we considered doing some hiking, but realized that it was a little too chilly for that, but I'm so glad that we just decided to drive and pull over at a couple stops because it was beautiful!!

We will for sure be doing that drive again and exploring up there more because once we got home, Courtney looked more into the area that we had driven through and if we would have kept going there would have been a possibility of us seeing some Moose!!
