It was a beautiful day here in Cheyenne and when it's a nice day, you have to get outside and do something. Our first thoughts on a beautiful day are always, let's go hiking, but since the girls still needed to get some school work done, we decided that we should probably just hang around Cheyenne.
So, fishing it was!!
It was hard finding a good spot to fish at the base lakes. Our first spot that we went to, it ended up being very windy which made it pretty chilly to sit there and enjoy fishing. And we weren't catching anything, so we decided to pack things up and try the other base lake.
When we arrived at the other base lake, we found a little area with a table right next to the water. We had high hopes that this spot was going to be our lucky spot. Of course, by then, the kids weren't really into fishing anymore and just wanted to play around.
Courtney and I were determined to catch some fish at our new spot, which didn't take long. They may have been little fish, but we caught many of them. When the kids started realizing how many fish we were catching, they decided that they needed to start fishing again. But, no kid caught any fish, just mommy and daddy, which bummed the kids out, but oh well, there is always next time, kiddos!
It was a pretty warm day and we all came back home with smiles on our faces and with some red skin, but even with it being a rough start to fishing, we had a pretty great afternoon!
