RMNP Heading Home

It's time to head home. And I'm so not ready for it. Neither one of us were ready. It was such a good mini vacay, that I wasn't ready for it to end.

But it wasn't ending just yet. We wanted to explore a little town that we came across, Grand Lake. It's the most beautiful little town. It's a town that we would love to hopefully stay in the next time we decide to head to this side of the RMNP.

The downtown area is so cute and the best part of it, is there are hummingbirds flying every where. I love hummingbirds. When I see hummingbirds I always think of my grandpa Holtgeerts.

At every little shop downtown, there was a hummingbird feeder. So, every once in awhile, you would actually hear a hummingbird buzzing by, it was the coolest thing.

After getting some lunch, we decided to head down towards the water. They have a little beach area, so we figured, we could sit there for a bit, while the kids put their feet in the freezing cold water. The kids were loving it. Courtney and I were loving it too! There were paddle boats, kayaks, little sail boats, and pontoons, hanging out on the lake. It was relaxing just to sit there and enjoy all of it. Especially, knowing that we were about to get into the car and head back home to Cheyenne.

Before leaving Grand Lake, the kids enjoyed some ice cream, while Courtney and I enjoyed a very delicious cup of coffee.

Then, it was back into the car and head home. We decided that we didn't want to take the highway back home, but take the mountain side way back home. It took us through some national forests, which was pretty cool to see. We even came across another continental divide sign.

Our mini vacay, went by way too fast, but it was much needed for all of us. We may not have been able to enjoy going on our real vacation to Texas, but this was the next best thing. Hopefully, we will be able to take a day trip up to the mountains again before summer ends, but if not, I am so happy that we were able to go up to the mountains and put all the worries of life behind us for a little bit.

Until next time, RMNP
