Happy Thanksgiving!

It’s been a bit since we have had family here with us for Thanksgiving, so when my parents text me to tell me they were able to join us for Thanksgiving, we all got pretty excited. This was also going to be the first time that my parents were going to be seeing our new home. A couple months back my parents planned a trip to come visit us, but unfortunately, McKenna and I came down with covid, so they had to turn around and go back home.

The week of Thanksgiving came and everyone was healthy, thank goodness, so lets enjoy family time and an amazing turkey dinner!!

Courtney has always wanted a smoker and I finally convinced him to just get it because we would use it all the time and with that, we could use it to smoke our turkey for Thanksgiving.

Courtney has never smoked a turkey, so we were really unsure on how long it would take, but no matter the time he had to wake up, he was going to smoke this turkey.

While the turkey was smoking and I was preparing all the other sides for dinner, McKenna and Grandma made some pumpkin pie. McKenna is always willing to lend a helping hand when it comes to prepping food, but when you add that you are baking, she will take over and enjoy every second of it.

After a day of barely eating because we all wanted to be nice and hungry for our turkey dinner, it was finally time to eat. Unfortunately, the turkey did take a little longer than we had hoped, but once we had that turkey in front of us, we all knew it was worth the wait. It was delicious!

It was a great Thanksgiving and I am very thankful that my parents were able to make the trip to South Carolina to join us!
