Hilton Head and Family Fun

While the parents are away, Auntie and Skylar Jo come to play! 

Courtney had an awards banquet that he needed to attend in Hilton Head. Made for a perfect opportunity to have a weekend away with just Courtney and I. With that, we ask Amber if she could come watch the kiddos for the weekend, “YES!”

I love being with our kids and I love sister and Skylar Jo time, but time to have no-kid time for the weekend. It was hard for me to leave the kids. I haven’t left the kids more than a couple times, but when I leave, at least Courtney is home with them. This will be the first time that both of us are away from the kids, at the same time. 

There were some tears shed on my part on the way to Hilton Head, but I knew this was good for everyone of us. The kiddos got some Auntie and Skylar time and Courtney and I could just have some fun, with just the two of us. 

Once getting to Hilton Head, we weren’t too sure what to expect, but dang when we got to our room, we couldn’t believe it.

We had a room facing the water. It was amazing to just sit on the deck and listen to the waves crashing. We even saw dolphins jumping in the distance, it was a pretty surreal moment. I felt so lucky to be in this moment with my amazing husband by my side. 

The reason we were in Hilton Head was for the awards Banquet. Courtney received the SNCO (Senior Non-Commissioned Officer) of the Year award. With receiving the award, he gets invited to Hilton Head for the banquet and gets recognized in front of the top Guard members. It was a very special moment, seeing Courtney getting recognized for all he does, day in and day out. He has a lot of passion for his job and it’s great seeing that others see that and want to recognize him for that.

Unfortunately, time just slipped by and we hadn’t taken any pictures of us all dressed up, looking fancy. So, this is us, after all the festivities of the night. 

It was a great weekend away in Hilton Head, but we sure were ready to get back to our kiddos!
