It's Tuesday afternoon and school is already cancelled for tomorrow and talks of most of Cheyenne being closed. Cheyenne is predicted to get 8-12 inches of snow in the next 24 hours.
So, we got to enjoy the outdoors while we can. When we got home from picking up the girls from school, I knew I had to keep them outside for a bit because the next couple days, we would all be cooped in, inside.
I just couldn't believe that there was all this talk of a blizzard hitting Cheyenne, when it was currently almost 60 degrees outside.
We already knew that the kids weren't going to be going to school on Wednesday morning and we were hearing that most things were closing in Cheyenne, but no word on if Courtney had to go into work, which made me nervous. It had rained most of the night into the morning and then turned into a freezing mix, so the roads were very icy. Thankfully, right before Courtney was going to leave for work, he was told not to come in.
At the time, we thought they hyped up this storm because that morning it seemed like a normal morning. Then the wind started, along with the snow and the snow came down fast. So, now the roads that were icy are now covered in snow.
As you would guess, the dogs weren't fans of the blizzard. Every time we would open the back door to let them out, they would go running the other way. They wanted no part in it. We tried getting them out in the back and even through our side door and they just weren't interested in going out in the wind and snow.
I made the suggestion of Courtney going out there with them, so he bundled up and the dogs followed. Pebbles walked out the door, did her business and walked right back in. While Luna, well, she wanted to play. She loves the snow and didn't mind one bit with Courtney throwing her into the pile of snow. She just wanted more.
Wednesday night, they called off school and work for Courtney, but we woke up to it being semi sunny on Thursday morning, but no more snow was falling. So at 9:30 that morning, Courtney and I began the process of shoveling the snow. It didn't start out so bad, but it was got so compacted. I never knew snow could be so heavy.
BUT.....
3 hours later, it was finally completed!

Finally!! The last of it!! |
Luna couldn't wait until we were done, so she could go crazy jumping around in the piles of snow.
3 hours to clear our driveway and a sunburned face for me.
At blizzards end, Cheyenne got 15 inches of snow.
