Curt Cowdy

The other day, I got a text from Courtney saying he got the next couple days off, so figure out what we need for the day at Curt Cowdy, I got us a campsite for the day!

We haven't gotten to do a whole lot these days with all that is going on in the world, so this was going to be a welcome distraction for the day!

This is something that we have been wanting to do for a while now, to just spend the day by the water. It also would be a good test for when the day comes when we finally get a camper. Unfortunately, we found out that we couldn't go swimming in the water, bummer, but the kids still enjoyed the water, the best way they could, which was just walking around in the water.

It was a very hot day, so the kids were happy that they could at least put their feet in the water. McKenna pushed those rules to the limits of coarse, but oh well...

It didn't take McKenna and Logan long before they were begging to put their suits on and play games in the water.

We played some games and Courtney tried to do some fishing, without any luck of catching anything, but overall it was a good day of hanging out by the water. But, our day wasn't over yet!!

Time to do some hiking!!!

Oh man... it was hot, but the kids did a really great job!! The last time we did the hidden falls trail was with Amber, and that was a couple years ago already. Courtney brought up that at that time, Logan was still so little, that we had to take turns carrying him. Thankfully, this time around, he was a trooper and walked the whole time.

It took us a while to get up to the falls, the kids kept wanting to stop and rest, along with drink some water. Once we got to the falls though, we all forgot about how hot we were, took off our shoes and got into the water! We were able to walk up pretty close to the falls, which was cool, but dang, those rocks in the water killed my feet, so I didn't walk as far as Courtney and the kids.

It was an extremely hot day, and we all got some color (me most of all, I got incredibly burnt) but it was an overall great day. The kids, on the way home, while eating their PB&J's kept asking when we will be doing that again and when can we start going camping. Hopefully soon kids, hopefully soon!!
