HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY, LOGAN JAMES!!
If you follow our blog, you know that for birthdays we do birthday fun day. Last year, for Logan's birthday, we actually got to have a birthday fun day. So, this year with the corona still being a huge thing, Logan was pretty bummed that we couldn't have birthday fun day. He did make sure to tell us though, that he got to pick where he wanted to go for dinner. We would pick it up and bring it home, but as long as it was a cheeseburger and a sprite, he was happy either way.
When it came to Logan's birthday, it was a no brainer that I had to find something that had to deal with NASCAR. We bought him a few diecasts for his presents, but I was even able to find some checkered flag balloons. We try to make it a surprise for the kids on what their balloons are going to look like because I love seeing their reactions when they see them.
Logan was very surprised when he walked down the stairs and saw all the checked flag stuff. In the last year, Logan has become more and more interested in watching NASCAR with us. He knows mostly all the drivers and their numbers. He will go tell you all about the drivers if you ask him. Who the drivers are, what their number is, and what their car looks like. He is one smart boy and amazes me daily on all the information he knows.
Even though Logan was bummed about having to celebrate his birthday at home, there is an upside to it all. He got to open presents right away in the morning and got to enjoy playing with all his new things for the rest of the day.
After spending much of the morning playing with all his new things, Logan decided that he wanted to have birthday lunch. His meal of choice... Buffalo Wild Wings.
Then, as soon as our bellies settled from our big lunch, it was time for birthday cookie cake.
Birthdays sure are different for us because we aren't doing birthday fun days, but I hope the kids still enjoy their birthdays to the fullest, even without the little bit of extra fun.
