Time sure is flying by. I feel like it was just yesterday, that I was in the hospital, with Courtney and Amber beside me, waiting for our little McKaila to arrive. Fast forward and now we have an eleven year old.
This birthday was a bit different because McKaila got to enjoy opening birthday presents on two different days. Grandpa and Grandma Kuipers weren't going to be around on the day of her birthday, so before they left on their cruise, they wanted to have McKaila open the presents they got for her.
McKaila was more than happy to enjoy her birthday on two separate days, to the point where she hurried through her school work, so she could FaceTime with grandpa and grandma.
McKaila got spoiled by her grandpa and grandma and her smile showed it. She was one happy birthday girl.

The day has come, October 24. Our little baby girl is 11. I would be lying if I said I didn't cry when I said "good night" to her before bed. It's hard to believe that our little baby girl is growing so fast, becoming such an amazing little lady. And this birthday is a little bit harder for McKaila because Courtney isn't here to be apart of the celebration. So, I made sure I did all that I could to make McKaila's birthday, that much better.
Like every other birthday, I decorated the downstairs. I don't think McKaila thought I was going to do anything since it was just me. Heck, I did think about not doing it because it is a lot of work. Streamers, blowing up balloons and then hanging everything from the ceiling. It is a lot of work, but I will do anything to make my kids happy, especially on their birthdays.
Our dinosaur lover, got whatever dinosaur decorations I could find. And even though she's had these Jurassic World balloons before, she was still so happy to see all the dinosaur stuff every where.
She was even happier when she noticed that Courtney was on FaceTime when she walked down the stairs that morning. One thing that McKaila was very sad about was the fact that daddy wasn't going to be here for her birthday, so to have him on FaceTime in the morning, again to open presents and he was even able to FaceTime to sing "happy birthday" made her so happy!
McKaila is one special little girl. She's an amazing artist, a dinosaur lover and her smile lights up the room. I am so lucky to be her mommy. She makes me so proud each and every day. Of course, she does already have some teenager tendencies, but is that really a surprise?!?
McKaila wanted to make a red velvet cake for her birthday, so she helped in every part of the process on making the cake and she loved it. She's not the baker of the family, McKenna is, but McKaila really enjoyed being able to put all the ingredients into the bowl.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
MCKAILA ROSE!!
WE LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!
