It’s Halloween and this year, I will be honest, I didn’t really think much about it. Courtney was gone and I had told the kids that I wasn’t going to be taking them out trick or treating all by myself, so we agreed that we would do what we did last year.
A scavenger hunt!!
They all agreed on a big bag of candy and the plan would be that if they wanted to get in their costumes to hunt for candy on Halloween, they could or they could just have fun finding candy and not be dressed up. Their choice.
I am so thankful that the kids have been so understanding when it comes to life these days. Dealing with Covid and me, being the only parent at home.
Even though they were a bit disappointed that they wouldn’t be going trick or treating again this year, they understood and were very excited about finding candy hidden around the house.
We had another thing to get excited about. A couple days prior to Halloween, Courtney called us to tell us he was coming home! When he left, we weren’t sure on how long he was going to be gone, so we were pretty excited that after a month, he was going to be able to come home to us!!
That also meant, that since daddy was going to be home for Halloween, he was needed for some face painting.
Logan decided he wanted to be Spider-Man again this year, while McKenna wanted to be Minnie Mouse with some JoJo Siwa added to it (love her imagination) McKaila used parts from her costume last year to be Astrid and Stormfly.
We may not have gone trick or treating, the kids were happy to get dressed in their costumes and have fun running around the house finding the candy that Courtney and I hid around the house!
