Richmond

Amber is making the big move to North Carolina!!

It’s all very exciting, but I knew that she was going to have a lot of emotions in leaving the place she’s been for the last handful of years. So, it just so happened to work out, that Courtney was able to take some time off, so he could be here for the kids, while I flew to Richmond to help with the big move.

Since the whole pandemic started, I haven’t been many places, especially not an airport. Being on a plane already gives me a lot of anxiety, then you add covid to the mix, to say I was a ball of anxiety would be an understatement.

But, I am so glad that through all my tears and anxiety about leaving, I am so glad I pushed myself through it and did it!

The flight went smoothly and was incredibly happy to be back on the ground. More so, happy to see that my sister was already waiting for me at the airport when we touched down. And was greeted with a delicious cup of Starbucks coffee!! My sister knows the way to my heart!

Once we got back to Amber’s place is was time to unwind a bit, then off to dinner we went!! Amber treated me to a yummy dinner, with tacos and best of all margaritas!! Got to love happy hour!!

After filling up our bellies, Amber drove us around Richmond to see all the Christmas lights. We even came across a couple houses that were part of the show The Great Christmas Light Fight!!

One thing I really wanted to do with Amber while I was there, was to get a manicure and pedicure. It’s been a long while since I’ve treated myself to something like that, so now would be the best time to do that. And to enjoy it with my sister, it doesn’t get any better than that.

After getting pampered, it was time for lunch!

Amber and I of course, love our wine and decided to have a flight of wine. I mean, where do you ever see that? You see places offer a fight of beer, but never wine, so we had to do it. So glad we did too because there was wines in that flight that I probably would have never tried, but actually really liked.

Now, that our nails were looking pretty and our bellies were full, once again, it was time to get back to the apartment and start packing for the big move tomorrow.

We had a busy night, boxing up the rest of Amber’s apartment, but we got it done with plenty of time to relax with some wine for the rest of the night.

The next morning, we woke up, enjoyed some coffee and decided to go out and pick up breakfast. Jojo (Amber’s boyfriend, who she is moving in with) and his brothers weren’t going to be arriving with the moving trailer for another hour or so, so Amber took me around to show me some of her favorite places that she likes to visit before they were to arrive.

Being by the water was so relaxing and the perfect place to be right before all the craziness of moving started.

Jojo and his brothers arrived in Richmond and they got straight to business. Amber and I helped bring all the boxes to the elevator and the boys would then load up the elevator, take it down to the lobby, unload the elevator and then took it all to the trailer.

Not even 2 hours later, and the boys had everything loaded up in the trailer.

Now, we have an empty apartment. I believe it was a pretty bittersweet moment for Amber to see her apartment empty, but she stayed strong through it all. She has some pretty amazing things coming her way, so I think her doing this, moving to NC, is going to be a really great thing for her.

Congrats Amber and Chippy on your move to North Carolina!!
