Elliott

I went into Petco to get dog food and well….
I left with much more than just dog food.

It took me about 5 minutes before I was even ready to walk into Petco. My heart has still been struggling with the loss of Meeko and being in a pet store makes the tears want to start flowing again.

After I got myself together and took a deep breath, I walked in, only to see that they were holding a cat adoption for a local rescue.

I honestly didn’t think my heart could take looking at all these little kittens, but I got pulled to them and to my surprise, asked if I could hold this sweet little kitten that kept coming up to me and licking my finger. It was love at first sight, I didn’t look at any other kittens and I had this strong feeling come over me that told me that I couldn’t leave without this kitty.

I sent Courtney pictures of my new kitty friend and then even talked with Courtney on the phone (he’s currently gone) and he knew this is what my heart needed and told me to do whatever I needed to do to make me happy.

So, Curry, now Elliott (as in Chase Elliott, go #9!!) is officially a Polnicky!!!!!

Ever since my Meekers went over the rainbow bridge, McKaila, McKenna and Logan have seen many tears falling from my eyes and comforting me when they do see my tears, so I think the last thing that they thought would happen is mommy coming home with a little kitten.

They were shocked and honestly couldn’t believe what they were seeing in front of them. But, now they do joke every time I have to run to the store, don’t come home with another kitty.
So, funny kids, so funny :)

The first couple days, I couldn’t believe that I was doing this already. It hasn’t been that long since my Meekers left me, but I do truly believe that this is what Meeko knew I needed. It’s like he sent me to look at Elliott and fall in love to heal my heart.

I will be honest, I still cry my eyes out because I miss my cat so freaking much, but having Elliott has truly helped. He is such a loving kitty and sleeps by my side or even on top of me, every single night. It’s just what I needed.

Even the dogs have fallen in love with little Elliott. The first day or two weren’t the greatest because the dogs were unsure of this little thing going crazy around the house. And Elliott wasn’t too fond of the dogs that probably look incredibly huge to him, but now… they love each other. Emma and Elliott even like to cuddle with each other and like to play with each other.

Elliott has quickly made himself a part of our family and he has helped heal my heart. Elliott reminds me so much of my Meekers and that’s why I will always believe that Meeko knew to lead me to Elliott. Now, Courtney just needs to get home to meet our newest member!
