We had a very fun day at the Swamp Fox Family day, that was held at McEntire, where Courtney works. Courtney was actually working that day, but he was able to leave the office for a while, so he could hang out with us a bit.
It has been a long while since we’ve had a chance to go to a family day, so I was very much looking forward to this. They had many different military vehicles, that the kids could get in and out of.
We even got to watch the military dogs do the work that they were trained to do. It was very intense to watch. I don’t think I have ever witnessed a dog attack a person like that. It was pretty shocking, but cool all at the same time.
There was some of the F-16 planes on display along with some other smaller planes. One of our favorites was the P-51. It’s always so cool seeing all these planes that were flying years ago and they are so cool to look at.
We enjoyed a very yummy lunch and walked around the grounds a bit before Courtney said he needed to get back to the office to do some work. The kids and I decided to join him, not only to cool off a bit, but to just get away from the crowds. The kids decided they wanted to get out the corn hole and play in front of the office.
There are so many military families that get annoyed of the sound of all these planes flying around at all times of the day, but for us, I don’t think we could ever get sick of it or even get sick of seeing all these different planes. This is the first time we are stationed at a base that don’t have cargo planes, they have F-16’s here. They are always so cool to see and watch.
It was fun afternoon hanging out on family day! I love that they do stuff like this on base and look forward to many more family days ahead.
