You can't go to Holland, without spending some time at Meijer. Oh how we miss Meijer. But you also can't leave Meijer without getting a ride from Sandy!
I remember Amber and I always asking to ride Sandy, so we had to make it a point that the kids rode Sandy too!
After getting rides from Sandy, we headed out to the beach. We had rode through the beach a couple different times at this point, but really hadn't got to enjoy it much because it was so chilly out. So, the kids were excited that they were finally going to be able to put their feet into Lake Michigan.
When we would ask the kids what they were most excited about when going to Holland, it was to be able to go to the beach and put their feet into the water.
But, before we took them down to the water, we wanted to take them for a walk on the pier.
The kids loved walking the pier and we got to walk it with Grandpa, which I didn't get a picture of, but he was there.
But, even though they enjoyed walking on the pier and seeing the boats all of a sudden speeding up as they exited the channel, they couldn't' stop talking about going back so they could put their feet in the water.
The kids loved having their feet in the water, but it didn't last too long 'cuz the water was freezing.
Once we made our way back up to Grandma, it was time to play in the sand and play on the playground.
It was hard to pull the kids away from the beach, heck I didn't want to leave the beach either, but it wasn't the warmest, so it was time to go.
I was really hoping that while we were back in Holland, that it was going to be nice enough, so we could have dinner while watching the boats in the channel, also watch a beautiful sunset. We didn't get to experience any of that, but I'm glad we were able to still spend sometime at the beach, regardless.
