Happy 10th Birthday, McKaila Rose!

 DOUBLE DIGITS!!

How is it even possible that we have a 10 year old?!? It just doesn't seem right and honestly it makes me kind of sad. My first baby is 10. She's growing up way too fast. WAY TOO FAST!

Seems like just yesterday, we were taking her home from the hospital and now she's a little lady.

McKaila really thought that we weren't going to decorate for her birthday. I just kept telling her that I just figured that since she was getting older, that she may not like something like that anymore. She got so bummed when I said that, so when she came down the stairs on the morning of her birthday, she was so happy and excited!

McKaila was able to FaceTime with grandma and grandpa Kuipers along with Auntie so they could watch her open presents. She loved that they were able to be a part of it because usually we aren't able to include everyone that she'd like, due to the time difference and family having other things going on.

McKaila was spoiled once again and she loved it! She was a little bummed that we couldn't do her typical 'birthday fun day' but she kept us busy all day doing things at home. I think it's more exhausting trying to make a memorable birthday at home, than it is going out for a birthday fun day.

One thing we were still able to do is birthday dinner. Like every other birthday, the birthday girl/boy gets to pick out whatever they would like for dinner. It may look a little different these days because we can't go eat inside, but we were able to pick our food up and enjoy it in the comfort of our own home.

Last but not least, time to blow out the birthday candles. McKaila requested a brownie birthday cake, so I made that for her, but she was surprised when I told her that she wasn't going to be eating the brownie just yet.

Grandma Kuipers surprised McKaila with cookies. Cookies that came all the way from Michigan and believe it or not, not a single one was broken.

When McKaila saw them, she said she didn't want to eat them because they were too cute. She got over that pretty quickly though and dug right in. She was one happy birthday girl.

McKaila let us know at the end of the day that it was a great birthday. It really warmed my heart hearing that because not being able to do our normal stuff for birthdays is sad, so I'm glad she was able to still enjoy her day, even if it was just celebrating at home!

Happy Double Digit Birthday, McKaila Rose!!
