Happy 8th Birthday, McKenna Grace!

We have an eight year old in the house!!

McKenna couldn't wait for her birthday. It was all she could talk about in the weeks leading up to her birthday. She kept trying to guess what kind of balloons we would be decorating the house with and what her presents were going to be. She did guess right when it came to the balloons, but we couldn't tell her that.

Even with guessing right, when she walked downstairs on the morning of her birthday, she was so happy and surprised. She loved seeing all the JoJo stuff we decorated the house with.

It didn't take long after she was birthday ready, that she began to ask when she was going to be able to open her presents. Lucky for her, she was going to be able to open them sooner than later, since she decided that she wanted to go into Colorado for her birthday lunch.

When it was time to sit down to open presents, McKenna was excited that Grandma and Grandpa Kuipers along with Auntie were going to be able to FaceTime in and watch her open presents.

Oh man.... McKenna is one spoiled 8 year old! She got everything she asked for, plus more!! I wish I could have included more pictures because this child is something else. Her facial expressions with each present she opened was hilarious. I have a feeling she will make a great actress one day!

And you can't end your birthday without a birthday treat. McKenna's choice this year, cookie cake! We didn't tell her what we were having them put on it this year, so she was excited when she saw JoJo on her cookie cake.

McKenna continued to say that she had the best birthday ever! It warms my heart to hear that because there is only so much we can do when we are trying to remain safe and healthy. So, yeah I may go a little over board on the balloons, but I'm just trying to make these birthdays a little more special these days!
