Merry Christmas Eve!

To say I am excited about Christmas season this year, would be an understatement. I am always excited about Christmas, but to spending it together in our new home, made the excitement that much more.

Now, lets getting going on all our Christmas traditions. Starting with our Christmas Eve traditions.

First up…

Christmas cookies!!

Unfortunately, I bought the wrong kind of cookies, so we couldn’t use our cookie cutters, but in the end it all worked out. These cookies were so much better than the other cookies we usually make and they actually got eaten, unlike the ones we usually make.

As always, the kids had lots of fun being creative while decorating their cookies. They also made sure they each made an extra special one to place on a plate for Santa!

My favorite tradition of all on Christmas Eve is getting in our Christmas pj’s and sitting together watching The Polar Express. We may have watch it countless times already this Christmas season, but nothing beats watching it on Christmas Eve.

Can’t get in bed too late or else Santa won’t come, so after enjoying our movie and filling our bellies full of popcorn, is was time to get Santa and the reindeers plate together. It was also time to say their good byes to our elf, Dilly!! They had so much fun each morning looking for Dilly and were sad that Dilly wasn’t going to be making a mess in our house anymore this year.

Before getting all tucked in bed, we had to read T’was The Night Before Christmas. We even got a special reading from McKenna with reading the Holland, Michigan version!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!!
