HBD to Me

It’s that time of year ago… my birthday.
I’ve officially been on this earth for 39 years. Holy Moly, that’s so crazy thinking about that and next year it being the big year of 40.

This year unfortunately, Courtney wasn’t here at home with us, he was back in Holland helping his mom after surgery.

To me, my birthday has never been a big deal and to not have Courtney here, it didn’t bother me, it’s just another day, but he felt bad that it was just going to be me and the kids at home for my birthday. That’s where Jo (Amber) comes in.

She had mentioned that she wanted to come here for my birthday, especially since Courtney wasn’t going to be here, but even though in my heart I was excited, I still said don’t worry about it, it’s just another day. The day before my birthday, Jo and Lylah headed our way. I was thankful, happy and excited to have the girls here with us. They were only going to be able to stay one night, but it was so fun to have them, even for that short amount of time.

The night before my birthday, I was told to hang out in the bedroom while the kids and Jo got to work on doing something for me. After a handful on minutes, Lylah comes to get me and brings me out to the living room, where I was surprised by some decorations and a wonderful rendition of happy birthday sang by them. I was even treated with some of my favorite bars, seven layer bars!!

It was all so thoughtful and it made my heart so happy!

Birthday morning, the kids made me coffee and we just enjoyed the morning with Jo and Lylah before they had to head back to NC.

It was a super quick trip, but I am so grateful that Jo decided to drive here to be with us on my birthday! Thank you, Jo and Lylah for celebrating with me! Love you so much!!

Once Courtney got home from Michigan, he couldn’t wait to give me my birthday present. While he was in Holland, he was able to get a moose and mountains burned into a wooden Michigan bowl. It was perfect and love it so much!!
