Easter Weekend

Since moving to South Carolina, we have been busy getting our lives settled here. With Courtney’s work schedule and the kids being in school, there is always something going on around here. But, it’s finally time to head to North Carolina to hang out with Auntie and Jojo.

Courtney and I both have spent sometime at their house, not together, but we’ve both been able to spend some time there and the kids have been begging to go over there. With Easter coming up and the kids having an extra day off of school, it was time for us to make our way over there.

Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t looking the greatest for our visit, but we were going to make the best of it.

We spent some time walking around downtown Wilson. It was a pretty chilly day with some light rain, but we still took in what we could. Ever since moving to NC, Jo has always talked about the wriligigs, so I was looking forward to seeing what this was all about. Got to say, it was pretty cool. I wish it would have been a warmer day, so we could take in the wriligigs a little more, but it was pretty dang cool!!

After walking around downtown and walking in some shops, my favorite being the antique shop, we ate at a cool pizza place where the kids were able to play some games, it was time to head back to the house and start prepping food for Easter lunch.

McKenna was more than happy to get in the kitchen with Auntie and help where ever she could. McKenna chopped up the veggies for veggie pizza, while Auntie started making some deviled eggs.

That night, we all headed down to the barn where Jojo’s family was. Jojo has a big family, so it’s a lot for us, since we have a small family, but his family is always so welcoming, which makes the situation very comfortable. The family was getting together for a gender reveal. Jojo’s brother and sister in law are expecting their second baby and it was time to find out what they were having!!

IT’S A GIRL!!

Logan was pretty bummed that the weather was crappy because he really wanted to go out on the 4 wheelers, but he was just as happy to just sit on them. Hopefully the next time we head out NC, the weather will be on our side, so we can enjoy the outdoors a little bit more.

HAPPY EASTER!!

After having an amazing Easter lunch, it was time to let the kids run around back and find all the eggs that were hidden. We don’t do anything like that here for Easter, so the kids were loving it! They were running here to there in the backyard to get to every egg they could see. Logan was running so hard, that he fell, which left his bottom all wet. He didn’t care one bit, he just got right back up and started running again. It was so fun to watch all the kids be so excited after every egg they found.

It was a great little getaway to see the Arizpe family!! Thank you for letting us take over your house and we look forward to coming back to your place and hopefully it will be better weather next time around. Love you all!!
