National Naval Aviation Museum

Something that we've been wanting to do since we moved here was to travel to Pensacola and check out the National Naval Aviation Museum. As many of you already know, our girls love airplanes, so this was a perfect thing for us to do with them.

So, the night before we got everything ready because we wanted to head out early, so after a day at the museum we could finish it off with some time at the beach. Both girls got excited knowing that we were going to be seeing airplanes in the morning. Yes, I said both girls. McKaila has passed down her love for airplanes to her sister. McKenna loves seeing airplanes in the air and is always playing with the countless amount of airplane toys we have here at home. She even makes the noises to sound like they are flying, which is beyond adorable.

We all had such a great time at the museum and you could tell the girls enjoyed themselves because within minutes of getting them buckled into their seats, they were both sound asleep. While the girls slept, we decided to explore Pensacola a bit. We drove around the beautiful beaches and were excited to get some dinner and head back to let the girls play in the sand and water.

We didn't get to stay at the beach for long because the sun was close to setting, but we got a good half hour in before we had to make the 2 hour trip back home.

It was a great day full of lots and lots of smiles from our beautiful girls, which is all that matters in the end. Can't wait to go back to Pensacola to enjoy their beaches again!

Laughter and Smiles

We had dinner at a restaurant on the beach and afterwards I thought it would be nice to take a walk on the beach. We didn't get much of a walk in, because as soon as the girls saw the water, they went right in, clothes and all. Thankfully, I figured that would happen and brought towels along.

They didn't care about the sandcastles that they passed on the way to the water, they just wanted to get to it. McKenna, she shot in there like nothing and before we knew it, she was all the way in. She would fall on her butt and laugh so hard and once McKaila got in, she joined in on the laughs. Unlike other times in the water, McKaila warmed up to the water rather quickly and joined her sister running around.

McKaila's Big Girl Bike

We have been wanting to get McKaila a big girl bike for a while now and so when we went to the Airman's Attic and saw a couple big girl bikes, we knew it was the perfect time for us to get one for her.

McKaila wasn't too sure about them while we were at the Airman's Attic, saying that she didn't want one, but I knew if we were to get it any ways, she would warm up to it. She was upset when she heard Courtney and I talking about getting the bike even with her saying she didn't want it, but she got passed that enough to pick out the bike she wanted. She got a little excited when daddy said that he would paint it purple for her.

She picked out the smaller one of the all the bikes, which I think helped her become more comfortable with the idea. We got McKaila to ride her new bike a couple times, but all she wanted was for it to be purple. So, the next day we were at the store getting purple paint and it was quickly painted after that. She was so excited to get onto her purple bike the next day.

Pictures For Daddy

There are many pictures that aren't shared here on the blog, but usually are shared via Instagram or Facebook. But, before these pictures are shared on social media, they are sent through text message to Courtney.

Both girls run up to me when I ask "lets take a picture for daddy". They stop and either hug on each other or snuggle up to me and show off their big, beautiful smiles. We miss him a lot, especially on the days he is able to head home for his lunch break. So, we just hope that sending a picture of his girls will help brighten up his day a bit,

Water Fun

It is quickly becoming unbearably hot here in Biloxi. Due to that, we've been spending a little more time indoors rather then outside. Of coarse, there are times we just need to get some fresh air, but we tend to do that more in the early mornings or after dinner after the sun has gone down a bit.

There has been a few mornings as of recent that we suit up the girls, bring out the hose and watch them cool off in the sprinkler. There also is a new splash pad on base that I have brought the girls too. We're hoping to do that more often because the girls really enjoyed running around in the water there.

From the pictures you can notice, McKenna loves the water, McKaila not so much. McKaila gets that from me, sorry bug. I have never been a big fan of the water and McKaila is the same way I was when I was little. Stand to the side and watch everyone else get in and play and after minutes of testing the waters, it's time to head in. For McKenna, it's a let's get in attitude. McKenna is hilarious in the water. She puts her face in the water and will even try to sit on top of the sprinkler. And the whole time she has the biggest smile on her face.
