Joe Gibbs and Hendrick Motorsports

It's race weekend and we still don't have our stuff. So, what better way to start off our first weekend in North Carolina, then doing some exploring to see what's going on.

Only a couple miles down the road from us is Joe Gibbs. I'm not a fan of some of his drivers, but it's still cool to see the cars up close and see the mechanics working on the cars for the next race.

We really wanted to go to the race, but we just weren't prepared for it. There was so much going on there and we could have walked around to see some things, but we didn't have a stroller and it was a really warm day, so we decided just to drive around it to see everything and hopefully when they race again here in October, we will be able to go! McKaila did say it would be a great birthday present!

Our next stop and my favorite stop, was at Hendrick Motorsports.  This place is so cool and I know we will find ourselves coming here often. It's pretty cool that the store is also a museum, so the kids, especially Logan, loved seeing all the cars!

Optimus Prime
And across from the road from the store/museum was the car garages. On one side is the 48 (Jimmy Johnson) and 88 (Dale Earnhardt Jr.) and on the other side is the 5 (Kasey Kane) and 24 (Chase Elliot) Inside was so cool. Seeing all the trophies and the cars was so cool!

Last Days in Biloxi, MS

Saying good bye to our house on Adams Ave. was difficult. I will admit, I shed a lot of tears leaving this house. We came into this house as a family of 3 and leaving it as a family of 5. We have many memories in that house and like any house, it's hard leaving those behind, but I know we are about to make many more memories in our new house.

After handing our keys in, it was time to say our see you laters to our family/friends. It took everything I had inside me to not cry. The Hartwell family, along with the Papa family have become our family here in Biloxi and the good byes were hard. Luckily, these days we have text and even FaceTime to stay in touch with everyone.

Roxy

On top of moving, we had to make the a very hard decision about our pug, Roxy.

The last month has been a very difficult one for Roxy. Courtney ended up having to take Roxy to the E.R. because she was having a very difficult time breathing. She ended up having to spend a couple nights at the hospital and during that time all of us were going together a few times a day to see her. It was so hard for us to see her struggling, that on the last night we went to go see her, we made the decision to put her down.

But, when we got there to see her the next morning, Roxy was back to being Roxy. She was so excited to see us, wagging her tail and everything, which we hadn't seen her do in days. We were so happy because now we were taking Roxy home with us instead of saying our good byes.

And then a couple weeks passed and Roxy was getting bad again. She was having a really hard time walking and her breathing was getting bad again. Courtney and I had many conversations about not wanting Roxy to suffer. No animal should suffer through anything just so you still have them there with you. So, in the midst of the movers being at our house packing up all our stuff, we were making the very hard decision to put Roxy down.

I know putting Roxy down was the best thing for her. I hated seeing her suffer like she was, but it's so hard not having her here with us. I have had my good days, but when I have my bad days, it's hard. I just stare at pictures of her. McKaila misses Roxy terribly too. Every where we go she must take her Roxy stuffed animals with us. She thought she lost one recently and she cried for a couple days. Courtney then, bought a similar one online for her and my mom went out of her way to find her a Roxy too.

Roxy will forever be in our hearts that's for sure!

WE LOVE YOU, ROXY!!!

YOU WILL FOREVER BE MISSED!!

McKaila's Last Day of Pre-K

It's been a very emotional day for me. My first baby has graduated pre-k.

This year flew by, that's for sure. She soaked up everything she could and came out of pre-k a dazzling little girl. She grew up a lot during this year. She still is our shy little girl, but she gained some confidence for sure. The first program we had at school she wasn't too sure about singing in front of everyone, but this time around, she was ready to show us what she had learned.

Muffins With Mom

To celebrate Mother's Day, McKaila's school put on a special treat for all the moms.

McKaila was very excited about giving me her gifts that she had to tell daddy all about them, which made me excited to see her creations that she made me.

McKaila colored a picture that Ms. Malissa put around a flower pot and also planted a beautiful flower, which she helps water every day.

Thank you McKaila for the wonderful Mother's Day gifts. I will cherish them forever!

Biloxi Shuckers

We've wanted to attend a Biloxi Shuckers game ever since they started the minor league here, but we never got around to it last year since they didn't play many home games here since the stadium wasn't finished yet.

Thankfully, we were able to squeeze in a game a few weeks before leaving Biloxi.

Our first attempt at attending a game, ended up being a rain out. We actually figured it would be rained out, but we still went to the stadium in hopes a game would start. It didn't, but the kids had a fun time eating popcorn and playing in the rain.

Thankfully, they rescheduled the rain out game for the next afternoon. It would end up being a double header and even though there was rain in the forecast, it didn't rain. It ended up being the perfect game to attend. Due to it being rained out and being rescheduled for the next afternoon, people didn't know about the game. It was great to let the kids sit in any seat they wanted and have a whole row to ourselves, which made the game more enjoyable for everyone.

Minutes after walking into the park, McKaila was approached and asked if she was a fast runner. She was very shy, but shook her head yes, they continued to ask if she would like to race the crawfish in between innings. I didn't think she would have enough guts to do it, but she surprised us and out ran the crawfish and the lady that was running with her. She was so proud of herself and so were we!

SHUCKERS WIN!!!!!

We all had a great time at our first Shuckers game. Sadly, we won't be able to attend another one here in Biloxi, but hoping to we find some where to watch baseball in Charlotte.

GO SHUCKERS!!
