Merry Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

The kids were up bright and early on Christmas morning. Who am I kidding, they are always up at the crack of dawn, so nothing really changed there.

But they were eager for everyone to get out downstairs, so they could start opening their presents. Every couple minutes you would hear from one of the kids is "can we start opening presents yet?" So, when we finally announced that they could start opening, there was no stopping them. After a bit, we had to stop them and tell them to slow down. The kids were just too excited and before we knew it, all the presents were unwrapped and the kids were begging for us to open up all the packaging so they could start playing with all their new things.

This year we gave the girls money to spend at the Christmas shop they had set up at their school. They were given enough money to get something for their siblings, Auntie, along with mommy and daddy. So right before winter break, the girls came home with a bag full of presents to put under the tree.

The girls were very excited for us to open their special gifts that they picked out just for us. We were given ornaments, jewelry and stickers for Logan.

I believe that the kids got everything and more, then they ever wanted, just like every other Christmas. Santa sure did treat them well. So did, their grandparents, auntie and their great grandma's.

After the excitement of opening presents and opening all the packaging for everything, the kids spent the whole day playing with everything, which made for a relaxing day for mommy, daddy, and auntie. It was a successful Christmas Day, for sure!

Merry Christmas Eve!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!!

We started our Christmas Eve with some cookie making. This is something the kids always look forward to especially as they get older.

All 3 kids helped Courtney out with the cookie making process, but really, all they wanted to do was use the cookie cutters. I don't know what it is about putting the cookie cutters into the dough, but they were very eager about it all.

While we were baking the cookies and then letting them have a chance to cool, the kids made some things for Santa.

They were very excited about Santa's arrival and took the Santa coloring and writing very serious! I loved seeing them get excited about making something special for Santa.

Finally, time to decorate cookies! I think that the kids ate more frosting then what they were putting onto the cookie, but they enjoyed themselves and that's all that matters. They don't usually get to eat sugar like this, so I think they enjoyed every minute of it.

To end our Christmas Eve, it was time for my favorite part. Watching the Polar Express and reading The Night Before Christmas! I love being able to cuddle up with the dogs and cat along with the kiddos and enjoy a movie and reading them a book before we tuck them in for the night. It truly has become a favorite tradition of mine and I know that the kiddos aren't always going to want to do something like this, especially as they get older, so I am enjoying this moment right now!

Can't forget to leave out yummy goodies for Santa and the reindeer. So before the kids went to bed, each kid picked out one special cookie for Santa and left carrots and Chex mix for the reindeers.

After getting Santa and the reindeers snacks out, the kids hurried upstairs to their beds because they knew that Santa wouldn't come visit our house unless they were fast asleep in their beds.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!!

Budweiser Brewery Christmas Lights

We wanted to do something different and fun while Auntie was in town for Christmas and while searching for something to do, I came across the Christmas lights at the Budweiser Brewery.

We never had been and thought it may be something fun for us to do, plus there was free drinks for the adults and crafts for the kids.

We didn't really know much about it and didn't know what to expect, but even though it was a pretty chilly night, it was fun. There was a Christmas light maze that auntie did with the girls a few different times and there was a small little train ride that Logan enjoyed.

Unfortunately, we had just missed the Clydesdale horses being there (they had left a couple days prier), but it was still pretty cool to see where they stay when they are in town. Hopefully next time we will plan it a little better and be there to see the beautiful horses.

Now that we know what it's all about, we will be a little better prepared for it next year! I'm sure the kids will enjoy going again and it's always nice to sit back, enjoy a drink, while the kids are busy coloring.

Luna Stella Polnicky

Meet the newest addition to the Polnicky family.....

LUNA STELLA POLNICKY

For a long while now, I have really wanted to add a lab to our family. I occasionally find myself doing random searches for labs to adopt in our area. I so happened to come across a litter of pups that were lab/border collie mixes. I fell in love with the brown lab and showed Courtney. That night we filled out an adoption application and within a few days, we received news that they accepted our application.  We were told they were holding an adoption event that weekend and that's where we could see the puppies and see if they were fit for our family.

So, we drove 2 hours into Colorado to go to the adoption event.

Unfortunately, the brown pup had already been adoption, but I instantly fell in love with the runt of the litter, Josie (aka Luna) I picked her right up and she snuggled right into me and I was in love.

I was a little nervous about how well Luna would do with Pebbles and Meeko, but it went a lot better than I thought. After a couple days, Pebbles and Meeko started warming up to Luna a little more and started being a lot more playful with her. It really got Pebbles to liven up a bit, which I have really loved seeing.

Luna was the perfect Christmas gift
When Luna isn't playing, Luna becomes the perfect cuddlier. She especially loves soft blankets. So, when McKaila was laying on the ground with her blanket, Luna found the perfect opportunity to cuddle up to her. McKaila was loving it.

The kids having been doing great with helping out with Luna. They have been taking her out to go potty (which she's done great at going to the door to let us know she's got to go potty) and also making sure that Pebbles and Meeko don't feel left out.

It is a lot different having a puppy running around the house, but I feel like Luna was meant for our family. I feel blessed to be able to call her ours and truly looking forward to having the kids grow up with her.

Welcome to the family, Luna!!!
