AF Cutie

McKaila is still rolling around like a Roly Poly these days and of coarse every time we go to record a video, she stops and just stares at the phone. One day soon we'll get it! She's been sitting really well. In the last few days, she's been sitting more on her own without the support.
We found out some very exciting news the other day. We get to go to the White House Easter Egg Roll!!!! It's on Monday, April 25!! Of coarse as soon as we found out the news, I went to McKaila's closet and was happy to find that we had the perfect dress for her to wear! Can't wait to take lots of pics!! Easter with the Obama's, couldn't get any better then that :-)

Ears

Most of you don't know, but on Saturday we bought a new car. A Honda CR-V.

**Pic of the car in the garage. Once Courtney washes it up, we'll get some better pics up**

Today we went to our mall in Waldorf, St. Charles Towne Center. We had some lunch at the food court then had to go to Kays Jewlery to finally get my promise ring fixed. (About a month ago, my pearl fell off the ring) Before leaving to the mall, Courtney agreed to look at the options of getting McKaila's ears pierced. He hasn't been to keen on the idea of doing it, so it was pretty big for him to say that. I don't know if it was my nagging or everyone saying that it's best to get it done when they are younger, but he finally gave in. So, I picked out some really cute 14K studs and we got McKaila's ears pierced.
It was very quick, but ofcoarse she screamed. The cries didn't last long because we had a bottle ready for her. Once she downed the bottle, she was fast asleep.

Seconds after

Once home from the mall, Courtney mowed the lawn for the first time this year. McKaila, Simon, Roxy and I all hung out on the porch while he mowed. It was so nice outside that we couldn't stay inside. (It was 75 today in Waldorf) It may be a weird thing, but I (Heather) love the smell of fresh cut grass, so I'm so excited about it being spring time and people are out mowing their lawns.

IKEA

Today we (Courtney, Heather, McKaila, and Amber) took a trip to Ikea. McKaila was super good like always. She's been enjoying sitting in her stroller and looking at everything around her. She especially loves seeing all the other babies. She always gets a big smile on her face when she sees a baby or toddler. It's so cute, like she wants to talk to them or something.
After our shopping trip, we went to dinner at Chevy's. It's a new place here in Waldorf. This is the second time we've been there and truly enjoy it. It's a tex mex resturant, but it's the closest Mexican food to what San Antonio offers. They do have homemade tortillas just like San Antonio, that's probably why we like it so much.
**Can't tell too well in the pic, but McKaila is wearing her Everyone Loves a Dutch Girl tee shirt and she's wearing jeans. I believe this may be the first time she's wearing jeans. She's so cute!!**

Beautiful Day

We all have been enjoying these great 70 degree days. We try to spend as much time outside as we can. Either it be walking around the block or just sitting outside on our porch while we watch the dogs roam around the backyard. The dogs have really loved that it's finally gotten warm 'cuz they spend a lot of time sniffing every inch of the yard.

Random Cuteness

We've so bad at updating the blog, so there are lots of pictures of McKaila that we've been wanting to share, but haven't posted on the blog. Now that we've got some time, here are some pictures of our precious little girl.

Tie Dye Princess

In the last few days McKaila has been rolling over like crazy. We lay her on her back and she rolls onto her stomach and then rolls right back over. We now have our hands full because we can't leave the room without McKaila rolling around. We put her on her blanket on the floor and before we know it she has rolled off of it. She is our very own roly poly.
She wants so badly to start crawling and think it will happen very soon. We've been putting her paci in front of her and she scoots a little towards it before she gives up and rolls to her back.

Trip To Holland

For those who don't know, we had to make a trip to Holland in very short notice. Courtney's mom broke her wrist and couldn't do anything, so we came to the rescue. With only a night to pack and it being our first road trip with a baby, it was a little stressful, but we did it. We were home for a week at the end of March. Didn't do a whole lot because we were there to help Courtney's mom, but it was still nice to be home for a while. We will be back for Tulip Time though and can't wait.
Here are some random pics of our first trip as a little family.
Had dinner at Jenny and Savorns
Had dinner at Gina's and McKaila got to play around kids around her age (Millie and Dirk)
Grandma Kuipers bought this for her, so she could jump around, she loves it
At one of the plaza's on the turnpike
Loves sticking out her tongue
On our way back to Maryland, we came across snowing conditions. The roads were getting bad, so we decided to get a motel for the night. First time in a motel for McKaila and she was pretty happy about it 'cuz she was ready to get out of the car seat and kick around

National Zoo

Yesterday we decided to head to the zoo. It was going to be perfect weather, not too hot and not too cold, so we thought it would be the best time to go. It started off kind of chilly, but after a little bit, the weather was great.
This was McKaila's first time to the zoo, so Courtney and I were really excited. Even though she didn't know what was going on, there were times when she would see the animals move and she would be fixated on them. It was very cute. She especially loved watching the Giant Panda's.
