Earthquake

So, as many of you already know, Courtney, McKaila and I were in DC when the earthquake hit. At the moment the earthquake happened, we were on the 2nd floor of the Natural History Museum. We had only been there for about 10-20 minutes when the earthquake hit. They evacuated the building and we all headed down the stairs. We were thankful for a nice woman that helped me bring the stroller down the stairs.
As we were evacuating the building, we really didn't know what was going on. The workers just told us to get out ASAP! We didn't really know what was going on until we started walking to the car, when we started getting messages from people on Facebook.

Minutes after evacuating

The helicopter was inspecting the monument, but we didn't know what it was doing until we got to our car and heard it on the radio

All and all, it was a pretty scary situation we were in. Everything ended up closing for inspection of the buildings along with Metro, so we had to walk 2 1/2 miles to our car. Thankfully we weren't the only ones having to do it, so we had lots to keep our eye on while we walked.

Once we got home, all the animals were very happy to see us. We believe our cat, Meeko was the most shaken up by it all. He didn't want to leave the bed until late into the night. We did have a few things from the walls fall, only a couple things were broken and hoping to fix. We are just incredibly happy that everyone is safe, along with our animals.
