Summer Is Upon Us

Oh boy, it's been incredibly hot here in Waldorf. It's been in the 90's with 90% humidity. It's just crazy. Thank goodness for air conditioning because I think we would be going crazy without it.

It is somewhat nice that it's been so warm because that means we can go outside in the morning instead of just spending the afternoon outside. With the tempertures so high, I would rather get McKaila outside playing in the morning rather then in the afternoon when it's the hottest. McKaila just likes being outside, so it doesn't matter to her much.

Trying to drink water from the hose

I didn't even dress McKaila this morning, I just put on her swim suit, and we headed outside. I had to put some fresh water in the pool and McKaila was set to go. McKaila loves being in the water. She must get the love for water from her Daddy because I sure didn't like the water when I was a kid.

McKaila loves having the water spraying on her
Happy baby
Hi Mommy
McKaila heard a plane and this was her way of putting her hand abover her eyes to block the sun

Time To Cool Off

Today was incredibly hot in Waldorf and it's just going to be getting hotter. Sunday and Monday its' going to be in the 90's. I love the hot weather, but not when the humidity is high.

Since it was so warm outside, Courtney and I decided to let McKaila run around outside for a bit before nap time. It got so warm, that we ended up pulling out her pool and filling it up with water. She was excited for that. She was trying to get into it before Courtney was finished blowing it up.

Once the pool was blown up and filled with water, McKaila was having a blast. Courtney put her slide in the pool, so she was sliding down that over and over again. We just love it when she has a great big smile on her face while she's outside playing.

Preparing herself to go down the slide for the first time

And she went!!! What a big girl!!!
She kept wanting to drink the water
Having so much fun!
Chilling on the side of the pool

Blue Angels

Yesterday was the last day of the Air Show. It was a little bit of a bummer because there isn't going to be another Air Show until 2014, but it was fun while it lasted.
Courtney, Amber, McKaila and I decided to head down to Andrews for the afternoon for the last day of the show. Courtney drove us around in the golf cart for a while, then we headed back to his office to watch the Blue Angels perform. Usually we sit right in front of the building, but yesterday we decided to sit up on the hill, in front of the Air Traffic Control Tower. So happy we decided to do that. What a great view of them flying.

Waiting for the Blue Angels to perform

And here they are: The Blue Angels!!

Air Show 2012

Today, we went to the Air Show. This is something that Courtney and I look forward to each year, but this year was even more of something to look forward to because of how much McKaila loves airplanes. It didn't take long after we got onto base, before McKaila noticed all the planes flying in the sky. But, she was even more excited when she saw all the planes on the air field. Her big thing to say right now when seeing an airplane is "what's that?" So, we heard that a lot today, but it was so fun seeing her point out every single plane there. She was a very happy little girl today.

SISTERS

This is always our favorite part of the Air Show, getting a chance to watch the Blue Angels fly. We were lucky enough to watch them practice a few days ago, but to see them performing for the crowd, is something amazing. Any one that gets the chance to watch them fly, take it. They are incredible!!

All in all, today was an amazing day. We got to see lots and lots of airplanes and helicopters, but the best part of it all was seeing McKaila's face light up with all the planes surrounding her. She absolutely loved it! Too bad we have to wait until 2014 for another one, but by then she will be even more excited to see all the planes.
