Logan 2 Weeks Old

Logan is 2 weeks old!! And I got to say Logan is a great baby. He sleeps great at night, sleeping 4-5 hours straight, and during the day if he's not sleeping, he loves just chilling on the floor looking around. He is just like any other baby though, eat, sleep, and poop, but when Logan is awake, he is very alert to what is happening around him.

We had Logan's 2 week appointment today. Logan is doing really well. He hasn't yet reached back to his birth weight, but the doctor wasn't too worried about it. They will keep an eye on him, which means us going back in  a week or two just to weigh him. But other then the weight, Logan is perfect!

Happy Valentines Day

We celebrated Valentines Day a day late, since we came home with Logan late in the day on Valentines day, but better late then never, right. We don't usually do anything special for Valentines Day, and this time around was the same, but like always I had to get pictures of all the kids together.

These are the first pictures of all 3 of our kids together. The girls were so eager to hold Logan since we brought him home, so these are the first pictures of both girls holding him and it was a perfect time to bring out the camera and take pictures in their Valentines day shirts with all of them loving on each other.

Introducing Logan James

I had a couple different nights where I woke up in the middle of the night with contractions, but I guess Logan was just testing me, because he wasn't ready to come then. I ended up having to go in and get induced. So, at 3 p.m. on the 12th of February, Courtney and I arrived at labor and delivery to start the process. It was originally planned that I would come in the morning of the 13th, but since I hadn't dilated much, they wanted me in the afternoon before to start the foley catheter before starting the Pitocin.

They started the Pitocin around 5:45 a.m. and by 7:40 a.m. my water broke on its own. Shortly after my water broke, I got an epidural, which unfortunately only worked on the left side of my body. Around 10 a.m. they stopped my Pitocin due to Logan not responding to it well and was going to start Pitocin back up, but since I was dilating more on my own, they never started it back up.

Before I knew it, I had the urge to push. The pain was unreal and told Courtney to tell the nurse, I needed to push. All of a sudden, I saw many people come running into the room, ready to deliver our baby boy. As the nurse checked me to see if I was actually at 10 centimeters, she told me that I needed to breath through it and not push because the doctor wasn't there yet. A minute later, the doctor was there, telling me that she ran all the way to me from downstairs. She literally got there just in time because 6 or so pushes later, Logan James was born.

A huge thank you to our neighbor, Christy Hartwell for making it to the hospital just in time to see Logan be born. All these pictures you are seeing, were taken by her. I can never thank you enough, Christy for being such a wonderful friend and being there on such a special day! We love you so much!

38 Weeks with #3

Logan James
Currently the size of a watermelon
Weighing in at approximately 6 1/2 lbs.
Approximately 19-21 inches long (crown to heel)
Heartbeat 140
Third trimester
Head down
About 1 week to go

Today marks 1 week to go. I scheduled my induction, so if Logan decides to be stubborn, I will be going in on February 13 to be induced. I really hope that he decides to come on his own because this lady is beyond uncomfortable. As you can see, my belly is huge and there is no more room for Logan.

I have had a few nights where I have woken up with contractions, but they come and go. Besides dealing with the on and off contractions, I have been dealing with a lot of back pain and pressure. Every day that passes, the back pain that I am dealing with gets worse and worse, making it uncomfortable to do much of anything.

So, here's hoping that Logan starts getting anxious to see mommy and daddy and wants to make his appearance sooner then later.
