Charlotte Motor Speedway

It's been so exciting living in NASCAR country. The whole family has really enjoyed going to all the different NASCAR garages around North Carolina and we have also stopped at the speedway a couple different times.

The last stop we made at the speedway, we finally bought tickets to a race. The race in Charlotte was only a week away at this point and all you see in the area is every one prepping for the big event.

We eventually settled on going to an Xfinity race for our first time going to a race. The Sprint Cup races are very long so we wanted to go to the Xfinity race just to see how the kids would do with sitting there. We were all excited for the upcoming week and then we got the news that Hurricane Matthew was headed our way and it would most likely jeopardize the race weekend.

Unfortunately, Friday came and so did lots of rain. So they ended up cancelling the Xfinity race and rescheduled for Sunday afternoon. Saturday, the day of the Sprint Cup race, it rained even more, so Sprint Cup was cancelled too.

In the end, we have to thank Hurricane Matthew because Sprint Cup ran before the Xfinity race, and we were able to see both races. Courtney had to go into work that Sunday morning to be there for the fly over, but once he got home, we were off to Charlotte Motor Speedway.

I don't think we were suppose to get into the Speedway while the Sprint Cup was going on, but we got in and we loved it. It was so crazy to see the race in person and not just on t.v. It's always been something I have wanted to do, is go see a race, and now I'm experiencing it with the rest of the family. It was just amazing and a dream come true!

Checkered Flag and Jimmie WINS!!

The Xfinity race started about 45 minutes after the Sprint Cup race ended. It ended up being that we watched half of the Sprint Cup race and half of the Xfinity race.

The kids had so much fun though. At first, Logan wasn't too sure about his earmuffs that he had to wear, but as soon as he heard the loudness of the cars, he wasn't resisting anymore. It was so much louder then Courtney and I ever expected too. So, now we know for the next time, to bring some earplugs for us too.

Logan cheering on the cars. He was putting his fists up and saying "Go, Go"
