Spring Break '17 *National Harbor*

It was a couple weeks before spring break and I went up to Courtney and said "I really need to get out of this town for a bit, lets go to Baltimore." I think it was a much needed trip for all of us because from the moment I mentioned it to the kids about going to visit Auntie at her house, that's all they could talk about.

Thankfully, Courtney was able to get a few days off at the tail end of spring break, and off we went. It's about a 6 hour drive for us, but it took a couple more on top of that since we had to stop for bathroom breaks and the wonderfulness of DC traffic.

By the time we had gotten to Baltimore, it was already dinner time. So, we decided to stick around the house, have dinner and let the kids play, since they had been stuck in a car all day.

That next morning, we got up and go ready and headed into DC to check out the National Harbor. It has changed so much since we were there last, so I knew it was a must stop for us for one of our days there. One thing too about going to the National Harbor, it meant that we could go to Andrews AFB. I truly miss being near base. I miss the military community that's for sure. So, I got excited when we drove pass the water tower at Andrews. It kind of felt like home!

McKaila learned about Abe Lincoln in school, so she knew who the statue was of, right away

We had to stop at the peeps store. We were suppose to go back for some candy, but we forgot

The coolest new thing at the harbor was the ferris wheel. It was an awesome ride, for sure!! The kids weren't too sure about it at first, but once we started going, they just starred out and telling us all the things that they were seeing. They especially loved, when an airplane would fly by.

After spending most of the afternoon at the harbor, we made our way to the base. There is no where by us where we can get some Air Force clothing, so I wanted to get a few things on base. We drove all through out base, even went passed Courtney's old work and saw Air Force One sitting out. It brought back a lot of memories being back there and it made Courtney and I really miss it.

To end the awesome day that we had, we went out to dinner on the water. Courtney and I told Amber that the one thing that we must have while we were visiting was a good seafood dinner. And we had just that!
