The last shining star awards for the 2017-2018 school year!
McKaila received the ELA Proficiency in researching writing given to her by her teacher Mrs. Whitaker. She also received a shining star award from Coach Prince for physical education great sportsmanship. She was very excited about receiving the P.E. award because she wanted to get that award last time!!!
After handing out all the shining star awards to the kindergarteners, first graders, and second graders, the principal announced the names of the kids who received the citizenship awards. Two kids from each class receive this award. When the principal announced the 2 kids for Mrs. Whitakers class, Courtney and I were extremely proud that he announced McKaila's name. And you could see that McKaila was pretty proud of herself too because she got a huge smile on her face.
To celebrate those who were awarded the citizenship certificate, the teachers came up and popped balloons full of star confetti over top of them. McKaila jumped at the sound of the balloon popping, but she also made sure to grab a few stars to bring home with her.
Awesome job, McKaila!! Daddy and I are so very proud of you!!!
