Fishing

On our way to school we pass 2 of the base lakes and we noticed there were pelicans hanging out in the water. I was hoping they would stick around until after Logan and I dropped off the girls at school. Sure enough, the pelicans were still hanging out. Thankfully, we live right around the corner and I quickly ran into the house grabbed my camera and headed back to take some pictures of the pelicans.

It was a down Friday, so Courtney didn't need to work, but he had to run some errands. Shortly after getting back to the lake to take pictures, Courtney found us there and once by us, Logan quickly talked him into going back to the house and getting our fishing poles.

The kids have been asking to go fishing since we moved here and finally at the end of summer last year we finally got fishing poles for the kids. The kids have been practicing casting their lines in the front yard, so they were more than ready to go fishing for the first time.

But the first time didn't come until now.

Logan got to go fishing for his first time while his sisters were at school, so thankfully it was going to be nice all weekend, so that the next day the girls could finally go fishing for their first time.

Logan loved sitting there fishing, especially since it was with daddy.

But after a while, Logan was done holding his fishing pole, so I took over. Not long after I took over, I had a bite and the first catch!

Saturday afternoon it was the girls chance to enjoy their first time fishing. It was a lot chiller today then it had been on Friday when Logan went fishing, but the girls still wanted to go out and catch some fish.

And catch some fish they did!! Both girls caught a handful of fish and were very excited about it and even though it was chilly and windy, they didn't complain one bit. That right there shows us that they truly enjoyed what they were doing.

I believe that you will find us at the base lakes a lot this summer!!
