Spring Break: Estes Park Day 2

It's our first morning and we woke up to the snow falling. Watching the snow fall in the mountains is pretty magical and beautiful.

And there I went still in my pajamas roaming around taking pictures. The birds around here were beautiful and I am pretty proud of myself at some of the pictures I got of them.

Before breakfast, Courtney went on a walk with Luna and they came across these elk not far from our cabin. So, Courtney brought back Luna and grabbed the camera.

Unfortunately, we couldn't take Luna hiking in the park, but since it was right around the corner from us, we wanted to at least drive through before going to an area where we could walk around with Luna.

It's a Tuesday morning and it's snowing, it was the perfect time to be there because nobody else was there. By the time we got into the park, the snowflakes had stopped falling, but it left a beautiful dusting on the mountains. The pictures don't do this beautiful scenery any justice. I know I have said it many times already, but it truly is breathtaking.

Dogs aren't allowed in national parks, but they have plenty of others trails and parks that dogs are allowed. So, Courtney found a dog park and we decided to enjoy a walk to get there.

Luna met some dog friends and the kids enjoyed running around with all of them, but we still had to walk back, so we didn't stay too long. But on our way back to the car, we did encounter some really big friends. It was pretty surreal having the elk literally right next to you!

It was a pretty chilly day, so the kids were pretty eager to get back to the cabin. After some lunch, Courtney and the kids went to the office where they have games and books you can rent out for the day. Logan spotted cars, so he had to bring those back to play with for the day and the girls picked out the game, Guess Who. The girls played endless amounts of Guess Who for the remaining time there.

We spent the rest of the day in our cabin next to the fire. Snow falling, sitting next to the fire with Courtney, while the kids are all playing nicely with each other. It was a perfect day!
