Travels to Michigan

It's finally time for our vacation to Michigan. Something that has been in the talks since the beginning of the school year.

Our travels took us 2 days, so our first stop was in Des Moines, IA. It was a long first day of travel, but so worth it once we got into town. Our motel was right on the river, so once we were done eating our dinner, we decided to do a little exploring.

Yes, the kids were still in their pj's, but oh well...

The next morning, we all woke up excited, because we knew that at the end of the day, we would finally be in Michigan.

But, we needed to make a stop at Antique Archaeology first.

If you don't know already,  Antique Archaeology is featured on the show American Pickers on the History Channel. Courtney was able to go to their located in Nashville, so he was pretty excited that we were able to go to their location in Iowa also.

I got to say that, it was pretty cool to be able to see the shop in person after seeing it so many times on the t.v. And when we walked through the shop, we saw many things that we had watched them pick on the show.

The kids may have not understood what they were seeing, but it was pretty exciting for us.

After spending some time walking around, it was time to get back into the car and start our last leg of our travels to Michigan!
