After last years pumpkin finds at Bartel's, I was very excited to go back this year! I wasn't the only one excited to go pumpkin hunting, the kids were very excited to look for the perfect gourds for their rooms.
We did have to do our pumpkin patch fun a littler earlier than normal due to Courtney's work schedule, but that was fine with me. That meant that we would get there and the pumpkins wouldn't be picked over and we could find the most perfect ones for the house.
And we were able to get to the pumpkin patch, just as they were opening, so when we arrived, there was no one around, perfect for some picture taking!
Just like last year, we walked around the whole pumpkin patch to look for the perfect pumpkins. Each one of us picked out a pumpkin to carve or paint and I was looking for all kinds of different pumpkins to decorate the house with.
While the boys went on the preferred trail with the wagon full of pumpkins, the girls and I walked the middle of it all. Even though it was a rough walk because you didn't want to step on any pumpkins, it gave us a chance to see all the different kinds of pumpkins. We saw big, small, tall and wide, and plenty of orange pumpkins, but also found lots of white ones, along with bluish green ones. They have a great variety at Bartel's and we loved it.
We told the kids that once we found our pumpkins we than could go back and look at all the animals. So, it didn't take long before the kids found their pumpkins and were already asking to go back to the front so they could see all the animals. That's when I decided to walk through the pumpkin patch not around the pumpkin patch, once I did that they stopped talking about it so much.
When we did get close enough to start seeing the animals, it didn't take long before the kids spotted them and started running towards them. These kids and their love for animals.
Even though Courtney had to get back into Cheyenne for work, we had enough time to enjoy a little picnic lunch there. The kids love it, especially since the chickens were roaming all around us. They got a kick out of it.
Once home, the kids decided that they wanted the task of washing all the pumpkins. As seen in the picture, Logan wasn't too thrilled about it, but the girls were pumped to help out. Even though they did get water everywhere, they did a great job. And in the end, Logan did help out, but he only wanted to wash up the gourds.
As the same as last year, Bartel's didn't disappoint. We got some awesome pumpkins and got to enjoy the morning together, walking the pumpkin patch!
Looking forward to going back next year!
