Moving Day

The time has come. It's almost moving day. A week from today, February 20 the moving truck will be arriving to our house and people will be coming to pack up all our stuff.

I can't believe that it's finally here. It seems like it was forever ago that we found out that we were moving to Mississippi, but to have it just around the corner now is a little surreal. I am really excited about our new adventures in Biloxi, but not looking forward to the moving process. Luckily the military brings in people to pack up everything for us, but just the thought of having to unpack it when it finally arrives to us, well, it just doesn't sound fun, especially at 7 months pregnant.

What I am looking forward to is getting into our new home and making it our home! We have decided to move on base, but we won't be technically on base. The housing is a few blocks from the actually base, but there still is guards stationed at the entrance of housing. I'm actually looking forward to living on base this time aroud. I'm hoping to meet a lot of other military families that will become life long friends, something that we missed out on a lot here, I feel. And hoping to meet families with kids around the girls ages, so they can have play dates.

But what I'm looking forward to the most, is having a bigger house. We'll either be in a 3 or 4 bedroom house with 2.5 baths. It's going to be a 2 story house with a family room, living room, dining room, laundry room, walk in closets. More room means, having an area where the girls can have all their toys without them being scattered every where. I'm excited about having the toys be a little more organized then they were in this house.

So, wish us luck with our travels with a toddler, 4 animals, and me being 7 months pregnant! It will be an intresting trip that's for sure!

Biloxi, MS here we come!!

27 Weeks Pregnant

This week marks 27 weeks pregnant! It also means that I'm officially feeling big! I can no longer wear normal tee-shirts. I've been wearing some of Courtney's shirts around the house, instead of maternity stuff, but those days are behind me. My belly is getting big and there is no way regular shirts are fitting around it. Thankfully, I have found some pretty comfy clothes at Target in their maternity section. And even better, most of the stuff that I find are on the clearance rack. (I'm Dutch, what can I say)

Last week, I had my last doctor's appointment on Andrews. It was a little bitter sweet because I've been lucky enough to see the same doctor every visit and have come very fond of her. Now, it will be off to an all new hospital and doctors. I'm looking forward to it, but at the same time kind of nervous about having to get to know all new doctors.

Washington Auto Show 2013

On Friday, we decided to head out to the Washington Auto Show. Nothing beats going to Detroit for the auto show, but since they have an auto show here, we always like to go. I mean, Courtney is in his glory when it comes to being around cars, so it's a must that we go. And McKaila takes after her daddy in that too  because she just couldn't get enough of going in and out of the cars.

It was a lot of fun, but made a long day for me. It's been awhile since I've walked around for hours, especially now, being 27 weeks pregnant. I felt like my body was going to give up on me towards the end because I was so tired.

We saw a lot of really cool cars and even spent a lot of time in the van that we would like to purchase once Courtney re-enlists, the Honda Sienna!! Never thought I would ever be saying that I want a van, but with two little ones, we think it would be a great idea!!

Me in the car I used to want, a Jeep Compass

McKaila liked the Compass too :)

McKaila couldn't get enough of Whitzy

Pound it!!

Our new van!! But different color!!

But the high light of the whole day for me was getting the chance to see Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas. I didn't wait in the long line to get an autograph, but it was still pretty cool to get the chance to see her!

ALS Graduation

Sorry that there hasn't been any blog posts lately! There have been many times that I wanted to sit down and blog, but I couldn't. I didn't have a computer to do it on. The reason behind this is because Courtney started his ALS (Airman Leadership School) class, so every day and mostly all weekend, he would have the computer, leaving me without the chance to blog.

Courtney did graduate from ALS this past Thursday and couldn't be any prouder, but with that being said I'm so glad that this class is over. It was a very long month without having him around very much. Class started at 7:30 and ended at 3:30, but they also had PT after class, and every night Courtney stayed back for study group. He knew if he would come home, McKaila would want all his attention, so that's why he stayed back to study, but it was hard, because there were a few nights he wasn't home to even tuck McKaila in at night. Which I know was hard on both of them.

It wasn't just hard on McKaila and Courtney, it was very hard on me. Being pregnant, tired, and achey without getting the chance for a break until bed time, it really wore on me. It was very hard on my body, doing baths and everything else with no one elses help. I got through it, which sometimes surprises me, but I sure am happy that I have my helper back. After not having that help for a month, it made me feel truly blessed that I have such a great husband that is willing to help with all things around the house.

Back to Courtney's graduation. On Thursday, they had a gradutaion ceremony at The Club on base. We enjoyed a great buffet dinner and enjoyed conversation with people from his squadron. Courtney wasn't able to sit with us for long due to the fact that he was the MC of the evening. He loved having everyone hear his radio voice, in which he did a great job. It was a great night and Courtney was honored with a great award that was voted on by the peers in his class, the Commandant Award! What an exciting moment for sure. And we were so happy that Courtney's dad and step mom were able to share that with us. Many people came up to us after the ceremony saying that the look on our faces when he won the award were priceless!
