Charlotte, NC to Columbus, MS

Bye house
A month before we started our long distance move, Courtney and I started planning our trip. Where we were going to stop for the night and what not. In the process of trying to figure out the distance for each day, we came up with the idea of making a couple pit stops to break up spending long days in the car. And we decided to make it a trip full of surprises for the kids.

LET THE ADVENTURE BEGIN!!

Our first stop....
Columbus, MS to visit our best friends the Papa's.

Good bye, Charlotte!!

As Courtney packed up the car in Charlotte, it started to snow/hail. It was in the forecast, but for some reason, we didn't think much of looking at the forecast as we traveled. As soon as we got out of Atlanta, we hit snow. Like lots of snow. There were so many cars on the side of the road. Courtney just wanted to be safe so he was going about 30 mph.

We traveled in the snow for a few hours and it even got to a point where we thought about pulling over for the night because it was getting dark and late. But thankfully, we came out of it and it was smooth driving from where we were to Columbus AFB.

It was a late night for sure, but the kids were so excited to get to our room for the night knowing that in the morning, they would be seeing their first surprise of the trip.

The Papa's are currently at Columbus AFB while Korey flies, but will be heading back to Keesler AFB in Biloxi, when Korey is done training.

The kids really had no idea what their surprise was, especially when we pulled up to the Papa's house and told them to get out and go to the door. They looked at us like we were crazy, but when they saw Kolton, Lily, and Ryker they were so happy and surprised. And just like Natalie and I, along with Korey and Courtney, the kids jumped back into like we saw each other yesterday.

I love seeing all of our kids together and really hope that we can continue to visit each other through out the years. We really have become more then just best friends, we have become family!!

Love you, Papa family and thank you so much for letting us invade your home for the day!!
