Spring Break *2018*

It's spring break and we decided to head out to Utah. Courtney's best friend from high school (Russ) lives out in Utah, so what better thing to do on spring break, then go on an adventure to Utah.

I have seen in magazines that there was an Abe Lincoln statue near us, so I was so excited when I started seeing it in the distance. Right away, I told Courtney to take the exit because I wanted to take some pictures.

There was snow about ankle deep all around the statue and well... it was freezing, but I went through the snow in my tennis shoes to get some pictures of Abe.

Thought it was a pretty cool stop and hope to return there once it warms up around here, so the kids can go up to it and see it.

Being on the road, I like to get some reading in, especially when the kids are good and I can relax a bit with a book. Well... I didn't get to do that. The kids did great, but seeing mountains on each side of you was beautiful. I kept putting my book down to take pictures and the pictures don't even do it justice.

The kids thought it was pretty cool that we were driving straight through the mountain

Utah is beyond beautiful. We all fell in love with it. The kids really enjoyed seeing the mountains each morning and man, so did I. To wake up to scenery like this, is relaxing and it's just what I needed after a few crazy months.

The girls LOVED their beds

On Saturday, Russ's mom, Rochelle put together an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Russ came into town (he lives about 2 hours away) with his kids to enjoy the festivities with us. All the kiddos had fun, running around trying to figure out where all the eggs were. Then, after all the eggs were found, it was time to open every single egg up and eat some jelly beans.

On Easter Sunday, we headed to Russ's house for Easter dinner with his whole family.

Logan and Emma (Russ's kids) got 2 bunnies for Easter, so most of our visit with them, the kiddos were enjoying cuddling with the bunnies. And now, our kids want bunnies. NOPE!

On our last day in Utah, we wanted to do some exploring. So, we headed up to Park City to walk around downtown and do some shopping! What a pretty place. While we were walking around, you could watch the skiers and snowboarders going down the slopes, which amazed the girls because they hadn't ever seen anything like that. Now, McKaila wants to go skiing of course.

The sun is too bright!

I could have easily stayed in Utah for a couple more days, and I think the rest of the family would have agreed with me.

It was a great vacation, where we could enjoy some relaxation and just be outdoors. I needed a vacation like this especially after our move.

I sure will miss the surroundings that is for sure, but now, home we go.

There are plenty of wind farms to see throughout Wyoming and Utah, but this was one of the bigger ones that we traveled passed! They look huge from a distance, but being that close to them, it was unbelievable how big these are. It's pretty amazing!

Our stop both ways, was at Little America. It's a resort and hotel. We actually have one here in Cheyenne, but the one that we stop at is one of the few stops between here and there, so we make sure to stop. It's a great stop. Perfect to stretch our legs and get some food. The kids were excited that on our way home we let them roam outside for a bit before we had to hit the road again.

So, being them, they asked daddy to take their pictures by the buffalo and the Sinclair dinosaur before getting back into the car and driving the final stretch back to Cheyenne.
